Got a Wanscam IPCam wifi cam to day and cannot get the port forwarding to work.

I have a Vodafone wifi router and think IO have the prot redirect setup OK.
I have a No-Ip.org Host redirect account to forward to my IP address but no joy.
I have an auto IP address update to keep th ecorrect IP address on NO-IP.org
I have setup the static IP address on the Webcam to 192.168.1.151

Any help on why the new host redirect at NO_IP xxxxx.no-ip.org does not see the webcam?

Vodafone router
6034073

NO_IP.org Host redirect
6034073

Port 8080 test result
6034073

Webcam setup

Ignore No-Ip.org for now and try to access the camera using the IP external IP address of the router

http://www.whatsmyip.org/ will tell you the external IP.

dont forget that you need to include the port number if its not port 80 (and it shouldn't be on port 80 anyway)

so if your external IP is:
xxx.yyy.zzz.www

you need to go to:

http://xxx.yyy.zzz.www:nn/

where nn is the port number for the wireless camera.

You will need to test access to this from outside your network.
PM me the address if you need me to test it.
Also is there a firewall on the router.

OK success on going with the IP address and port :8080 from my iPhone on 3G

But I still can't connect with www.xxxxxx.no-ip.org using the iPhone

The port needs to be included too when accessing using the address:

i.e.

http://xxxxxx.no-ip.org:nn/ (do not use www)

where nn is the port number and xxxxx is your hostname setup with no-ip.org

I have the port redirect setup at NO-IP.org to include the :8080 port.

Iv'e never used no-ip.org for dns I generally use dyndns so Im not sure about adding the port on the no-ip.org site, I dont see the point to be honest. Take out the port and see can you resolve the correct ip address for the domain name.

On a different network type
ping xxxxx.no-ip.org
into a command prompt / terminal window
does it give the correct ip address, dont worry if it doesnt reply.

You can use something like PortQueryUI to check if the port is open once you are resolving the correct IP.

PM me the hostname if you need me to test it.

Thanks for the quick reply's.

I think I have it sorted.

I removed the :8080 port forwarding at NO-IP.org and just added it to the http://xxxx.no-ip.org:8080 address in the browser address bar.

I think the main problem was to access the web cam from outside of my local network.

I didn't use dysdns 'cos they don't give a free forwarding host now.

There was a youtube vid 'how too' on setting up the foscam on no-ip.org.

I'm trying out Mangocam.com for the storage of the captured images.

Have you any better cheap sites to store the captured motin detected images????

Sorry I can't help you with that one. I was only helping out with the networking issue.
Would a network hard drive be an option
