Lat year was the 1st time I took part in the boards mock draft and it was good fun.

Anyway looking to garner interest a to who would like to partake this year. Looks a very unpredictable draft at the top unlike last year.

Have a look at how it went on here and let me know if you want to be involved and vote how many rounds we should mock. It was 2 last year which went pretty well

I'd like to be part of this... Missed last years. Is the team we get selected at random or can we pick for 'our own team'?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,929 ✭✭✭JaMarcus Hustle

I'm in, though is it who we think teams will draft, or who we think they should draft? I would like 3/4 rounds, I think the increase in interest in college football means people are well up to speed on a lot of mid round prospects too, and if not there's a great excuse to start researching - especially with the draft on Sky this year and potentially easier to watch for a lot of people.

You'll get assigned a spot at random and pick for the corresponding team in each round. So for instance if you have pick 1 you'd pick for the Chiefs in Rd. 1 n Jags in Rd.2 as that's the draft order.

You can check out the full order here

Stick me in too but I think we should only do one round or two max. Its always the same, the further it goes on the more people drop out of it.

That would be my worry about adding round 3 and 4, but we'll see on the vote.

Post Superbowl depression starting to fade, I'll give this a go again.

I voted for one round as recent experience has taught us that people rapidly lose interest.

Thanks to random.org here is the mock draft order. We will start the draft around late march and I will open a new thread for the picks and the discussion can remain in this thread. I hope I have the draft order right

    1. Langdon Alger Rd.1 Chiefs Rd.2 Jaguars
    2. deise_boi Rd.1 Jaguars Rd.2 Chiefs

    31. frostie500 Rd.1 49ers Rd.3 Chiefs
    32. SK1979 Rd.1 Ravens Rd.3 Jaguars

The reason that I have Chiefs & Jags at the end of the 2nd round is that the Browns (supplemental pick of Josh Gordon) & Saints (Bountygate) are both without 2nd round picks

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,710 ✭✭✭✭Paully D

    Thanks Higgins.

I'm glad I got two teams I don't really know a whole lot about compared to others. Gives me an opportunity to find out more about them and the players that may fall to them that I haven't had a chance to look at yet.

I have a few players at one particular position in mind for the Panthers already. Can't wait to get it started now!

I'll open a new thread for the picks and we will keep discussion of the picks here.

You can take my spot as I won't have access over the enxt few weeks

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,317 ✭✭✭HigginsJ

If your not going to be around for the next few weeks will you pop a message in here and we can find a replacement.

When we start the mck draft, if it looks like your pick would be in the following 24/48hrs and you wouldn't be available you can PM me a short list and I'll post up best player available at the time.

    Oh following recent trades

    25. Malistheman Rd.1 Vikings

    2. deiseboi Rd.2 49ers

One thing I would argue is people being given teams instead of a round pick. THat way you can see their strategy for round one and two as the round two guy may not agree with what happened in round one.

I like that we all have to do evaluation on two different teams though with their different requirements, gives us an excuse to match more games from last year too!

I agree, offers more variety and having to look at other teams' needs.

Something that I would personally like to see people do when posting a pick is to write a short paragraph on why they made the selection. That way you can see why people went a certain direction and it can drum up some debate in the conversation thread.

Great in theory but not all teams have equal picks so not a fair way to assign it out

Have PM'd Langdon Alger so he is on the clock.

No surprise with the first pick. Jags pick could be interesting.
