As an update on the 2013 Top 100 Players thread JaMarcus will be offering prizes for this year's edition. I know that I speak for everyone when I say a massive thanks to JaMarcus to going to such an effort! The deadline for entries is 9pm Sunday May 26th so make sure to get your entries in as soon as possible!

***Prizes***

To encourage people to enter, I'm going to put a couple of prizes up for grabs. One of these will definitely be won, and the other may or may not be won depending on the accuracy of your lists. Last year, we had 55 entries. I want the same number of entries this year, so prizes will only be won if we have 50 or more submissions this time around - there's your motivation folks!

Prize 1: One person at random will be chosen, and will be given the Username and Password to an NFL.com account with a 1 year subscription to NFL Network. If you already have an NFL Network subscription, then you can this one as a gift for a football loving friend in your life!

Your subscription to NFL Network Online includes a live stream of NFL Network 24 hours a day with DVR controls on a monthly basis. NFL Network offers original programming including NFL Total Access, NFL Playbook, Sound FX, Coaches Show, and NFL GameDay Final. NFL Network also has full coverage of Thursday Night Football games, Preseason games, and offseason events such as the NFL Draft and NFL Scouting Combine.

Prize 2: To encourage people to submit honest lists, and prevent bias towards certain teams/players, whoever has the exact same Top 10 players on their list as the Top 10 players overall - in the same order - will win an official NFL jersey of their choosing (provided it's available on the NFL/Nike EU online stores). Only 1 of these up for grabs, so in the unlikely event of more than 1 person having the same Top 11 as our overall list, there'll be a tiebreaker question decided on at the time.

Prize 3: One random contestant will be drawn to win a 16x12 photo from the 2012 Emerald Isle Classic of their choice from this gallery

All you have to do is help make the Boards Top 100 a big annual event that we all look forward to, and to do that, all you have to do is simply submit who you think are the 25 best pound for pound players in the league at this moment in time. It's that easy!

It was a fun thread last year, and prompted some decent discussion, so time for edition number 2.

Who are the top 100 players in the NFL, according to Boards.ie users?

Fire your top 25 my way in a PM. Current talent is the denominator here, ignoring current temporary injuries (i.e. Darrelle Revis). No deadline as of yet, but will probably leave it a fortnight or so - will update when. Please format it as below as I'll be using Excel and text-to-columns to automate the calculations. Thanks.

I remember my reaction from last year when somebody picked JJ Watt as the 8th best player in the NFL...looks like that person knows potential.

I'd say not many will have JJ Watt at 8th this year...he'll be in most top 5s.

These i would rank above Watt and this is a random list off the top of my head (no particular order):

etc

If this was the top 25 pass rushers, that pick would still be dodgy

EDIT: lol i even forgot players like Mario Williams, Camron Wake, Dwight Freeney!!!

Indeed, those JJ Watt votes looking very impressive now. I think we all knew he was a great player, but I would never have put him in my top 25 this time last year. Cracking pick by the guys that voted for him.

55 last year. Hoping to get at least the same this time around, and hopefully a few more.

Just to remind people of the how the rankings work - The player you vote #1 will get 25 points. #2 will get 24, #3 will get 23 and so on. Player with the most points at the end is #1. Tiebreakers are as described last year.

I'll be adding in a "Last Year's Rank" indicator too to see how opinions have changed in the space of a year. I'm also open to any ideas you guys have so the floor is open

There has been one very strange submission that I just don't know if it's serious or not. In 2 minds about whether it's borderline trolling or not. Not a poster I recognise either.

I won't report it if that's okay as upon reflection, it's most likely not trolling and there's every chance that it's a genuine Top 25 as a lot of the list is fine. And I don't want to judge other people's preferences. But there are 2 massive exclusions. There's also a backup player (and not even an oft-used backup player) chosen over the widely-regarded best player in that position in the league.

I tried to spread the love a bit and not just top load it with QB's and RB's, and attempted to get a guy from every position in .

Yea I reduced my QB's this year to include a wider variety of players

The user in question has given me his reason for his rankings and while I don't nevessarilg agree, I'm in no position to judge what should and shouldn't be counted so it will of course be included. Drama over!

Have received a good few lists so keep them coming. Deadline probably won't be for a fortnight, we're in no rush, so I'll probably leave it open until after the Mock Draft even.

Ah no it's fine if you just follow the above template. Copying + pasting from my PM inbox separates it into separate rows in Excel anyway. After that, it's just a simple Text to Columns.

Not fair to single out anyone's list in public for ridicule. I wont reveal anyone's picks - if they want to make it public, then that's their choice - not mine. Though I would ask people to hold off publicising their choices until after the countdown

JaMarcus, I know I already asked you this last year and received it but do you have last years list that I sent in available still? I'd be very interested to see how my list compares now after two years of watching NFL and gaining far more knowledge compared to just one when I created my first top 25.
