    Hi,

I have been trying to lose some weight and for the last two weeks I been watching what I eat and tracked my calorie intake online and for the last week it was like this

    Mon
    consumed:654
    Tue
    consumed:1,217
    Wed
    consumed:757
    Thu
    consumed:2,408
    Fri
    consumed:1,196
    Sat
    consumed:1,962
    Sun
    consumed:1,129

Total for week was 9323 , I even over estimated some food calories on things like milk, cream cheese etc . Not sure where I am going wrong, I am exactly the same weight, feel better and have more energy. I use the live strong app and am really strict with it (bordering on obsessive :D) I also walked 3 hours in the week, which isn't a lot i know, but much more that I was doing.

    Any advice be greatly appreciate,
    thanks

Monday 654, Thursday 2408?! :eek:The alarm bells are bloody deafening!!

Firstly, Mon and Wednesday are a big concern, what happened there? Your kcals are dangerously low. As for the week in general, if you're tracking kcals then how the hell are they so up and down?! I presume it's not down to some intermittent fasting plan or the like.

You need to work out the best kcal range for you to lose weight healthily and stick to that daily, even if it means making yourself eat more to get in more kcals on days like Monday.

    What height are you? Gender?
    What's your target goal?
    What exactly areyou eating?

Yeah, you're eating too little & your body is slowing your metabolism to cope with it! you need to be eating 2000-3000 kcals a day for a steady 1-2lbs weightloss per week! Once this stalls for a week or 2 take your new weight in lbs, multiply x 12 & there's your new Kcal range until you stall again! Wash, rinse, repeat!

    Hey
here is what I had on the two low cal days. I am male, 30, 19st 4 . I am 5 foot 10. I didn't eat much on those days because I was of and woke up late and wasn't overly hungry.

    Calories
    757

    Philadelphia Light Cream Cheese 1
    Philadelphia Light Cream Cheese 2
    Quorn Chillie 1
Sugar in the Raw Sugar In The Raw - Packet 1
    Supersweet Sweetcorn Cob 1
Tea With Semi Skimmed Milk 2
Wheaten Bread Yeast Free Low Fat 1
Wheaten Bread Yeast Free Low Fat 2

the day that i had a lot of calories it was a night out and had some 4 beers. I eat more that day because I knew I was going out and didn't want to drink on an empty stomach.

I don't eat meat (except a little turkey maybe once a week)
Most days I have Quorn mince in a chilli, toast with cream cheese, veggies, milk in tea and coffee, tinned tomatoes, mushrooms. I don't use butter or oil, grill or boil everything, little salt. Drink about 4 litres of water excluding tea and coffee.

I'd imagine if i keep going as I am I will lose weight and its just the week that is in it. I am in no rush to lose, have dieted before and it doesn't work. I am comfortable eating what I am now, just tracking it and not going hungry.

You may well lose weight, but you'll also feel like ****, have no energy and eventually fall back into your old eating habits.

You're going to have to be more sensible about it and consider your health as well as the weight loss in the long term.

Would you not just make out a plan, stick to it daily and see how that works for you?

On a sidenote, fair play to you for making some changes and for the weight you've lost already :)

Thanks. I have always eaten pretty healthy food, but just too much! I would put on a lot of weight from drinking. Like I would of drank 10 pints on a night out and a couple of bottles of wine at home each week. I have cut that out now, I still have beers , but drink low cal beer when out and at home. Now I am drinking a maximum of 25 units of alcohol per week. Probably still a bit high, but I don't want to not have a life either.

I am exercising now , well just walking 3 times a week, when it gets drier I will try to increase this.

I worked out as per what you said Burkatron that I should be eating 3252 cals per day? I don't think I have ever eaten that many cals, but I will give it a good try :D It just seems perverse to eat more trying to lose weight, hard to get my head around.

What I am doing now seems very easy compared to previous 'diets' . Now I don't consider what I am doing as dieting, I am just considering the nutrients of foods before I eat them and making choices based on that.

I have high B/P so I am weary of Sodium and am consciously consuming half or less of my RDA of Sodium, I just hope this isn't too little. The tracker I use tells me if I go over or under my RDA in each area, but it doesn't tell me the consequences .

I do feel I have much more energy and am sleeping better. Which is helping with work and studies

A lot of the calories from drinking is the crap you eat cause your decision making and will power is impaired. 21 units is the weekly max for a male. Low cal beers has only slightly less calories than regular beer and still makes you drunk = eat crap = no training the next day. Having a life is not about drinking. Decide what your priorities are at 19 stone and 5'10'' your a heavy dude (ex heavy dude here). This needs sorting.
I am exercising now , well just walking 3 times a week, when it gets drier I will try to increase this.
Yep defo increase this, walking is very time inefficient form of exercise. It take a long time for minimal reward. Think about interval training and/or some weights. Lots of new people in Gyms at the moment of all shapes and sizes. You have to exercise like a savage, way beyond the point for comfort. Going easy on yourself is what got you here in the first place.

You took that in on the days/nights you had ten pints I would bet. Eating that much clean is hard. Base it on your target weight not your current weight. Should be low to mid 2000's. Basically eat 15-20% under your daily maintenance level.
I do feel I have much more energy and am sleeping better. Which is helping with work and studies

Loosing the weight will benefit you in every way in your life. Sort out the drink, its the best thing you can do. Hey also drink a LOT of water (8 Ltr), it will accelerate your weight loss, and help you recover faster after training. Try get various protein sources in your diet, or a protien shake or something. Dont want to loose muscle and not fat.

    Good luck......:D

I am sure you are doing better than you were but tbh you don't eat healthily, for a full day you ate cheese, some quorn chilli, sugar, corn, ad bread. You pretty much had nothing good for you, at all. No veg even. What veg do you eat when you do eat it? You should never ever had a day like that one you listed.

Someone had asked what I had eaten on that day when I had low cal intake . It was not a typical day. Thanks
