I have been off the road running wise and will remain so for the foreseeable future..

I am looking to lose 14-18 lbs.Tonight i plan to take a spinning class for the first time and hopefully i can rustle up 120 for a 3 month gym membership.
My exercise is limited to low impact stuff and no heavy weights..

My question is that will spinning classes, rowing machine and cross trainer be enough to get to my goal weight and what way should i structure those exercises?

Depends on what your diet is like.

    Post it up.

    Hi there

I would say that its possible to get to your goal weight without doing any of those activities.

Weight loss is all about getting your nutrition in check for your goal....picking a nutrition plan that you have the best chance of sticking to consistently!!

As for the activity...I like a spin class its a good sweat so all good there!
You would be very surprised how tough rowing can be if you want it to be...theres a thread on here with 1000m rowing times..check it out and see how you compare!!

I dont do a whole lot of cross training so i cant really comment!

But i can only repeat and repeat this...if you want fat loss results..real fat loss results.....cut the excuses....ignore all around you who want you to trip up...key in your diet..and watch it fall off!!

    Best of luck!;)

    My diet as is......

Breakfast 40gm porridge with Banana and/or blueberries, never vary from this..

Lunch 2 scrambled eggs with 2 rye bread crackers with cottage cheese on it,plain and low fat

Dinners vary from Chicken, lean mince,Salmon with plenty veg, based lossly around Slimming world plans as the wife is following that.
We use salad potates rather than normal spud and brown pasta...
For sauces we use a tomato puree type sauce from Aldi.

I eat plenty fruit, apples, pears, oranges with a 1 small Muller greek style pots a day.Add to that 4x12oz cups of tea during work, hard to give up those!!
Water comes in at 1-1.5 lts per day

I am lucky that my wife is on a similar plan food wise and is a help so temptations are far away just now...
Spinning does interest me so hopefully i get a buzz for it later....

I would say to replace the "plenty of fruit" with veg.....i know fruit has its place but for weight loos its not going to do you any favours....and im well aware that a banana is more awesome in the taste stakes to a head of brocalli.....but in the fat loss stakes....green veg all the way!!

I find the fruit is a filler on work breaks plus it stops me picking at other items!

    I t works out about 6 pieces a day,too much?

What are these "fat loss shakes"?

i would say way too much.....i'd have a banana maybe twice a week and only as a post workout!!

perhaps a small tin of Tuna or 8 almonds for work snacks??

in regards to "fat loss shakes" ignorance is bliss!!!! solid diet and your fat will come off.....trust me!!!

I do cycle to work most days,5 mile round trip, short but it is something.

Swimming is one thing i am going to have to get around to,a few things going on that stop me just now.
