So a rape survivor (I prefer that to victim esp in this case), Twink, Crystal Swing, something called Bressie (who is that?) and justified/ancient journalists.

    #diverse!

Twink, again. The show is a sham. I will watch the Lance piece, and then it's off to bed.

I've heard Off The Ball and Pat Kenny among others interviewing David Walsh about this... I cant wait to see what insightful questions Tubridy has to bring to this topic...

Kenny's interview was quite good. Tubs is just plain poor most of the time compared to Kenny. We slated Kenny, but by god I miss his Late Late's compared to Tubridy's.

Kevin Cullen was just on Newstalk talking about Beyoncé singing at the Presidential Inauguration and he said "Beyoncé makes Madonna look like Twink"... :D

Kenny is an intelligent man who always has his research done ahead of his interviews, he may have been a bit weak on the light fluffy side of things but Tubs seems to struggle in lots of areas.

I honestly think that the Tubs would make a great children's presenter as the Toy Show is by far his best programme every year.

Spot on. Tubs just doesn't cut it bin a serious interviewing sense. Kenny is well tuned in, very intelligent and can ask questions a lot more fluidly and off the cuff.

bressie is on to discuss a show that he was on to discuss last year....and last year he was at pains to clarify that "the voice" is not x factor....because it's not about the judges....ok??? it's not about the judges....it's all about the contestent coz they can't see them and it's not at all about the judges.....it's all about the contestants....ok??? NOT ABOUT THE JUDGES!!!!!!!!!!

I've heard a lot of interviews given by David Walsh, Emma O'Reilly and Paul Kimmage in recent weeks but I think they deserve all the media attention they can get after all Lance Armstrong put them through.

Their lives and careers were very nearly destroyed by the lying b@stard.

I was hoping to get a seat on the jumbo jet that Kimmage was going to bring to Switzerland :D

Well, the Late Late has an awful habit of doing this. It wouldn't at all suprise me to see this waste of talent space rolled out again.

Ive been following the Armstrong story over the past few weeks, and only for David Walsh and Emma o Reilly he would have never been brought down. They deserve enormous credit for their bravery.

Don't forget Paul Kimmage and Alan English too.
In 2006 the cyclist settled out of court after the journalist David Walsh and the deputy Sunday Times sports editor, Alan English, published the article, which referred to the book co-written by Walsh, LA Confidential - The Secrets of Lance Armstrong."

Just got offered 2 tickets for this and accepted.

I'll be the guy sitting in the white shirt with this written on it:

    "Late Late Show 25/1/13"
"I'm only here for the free stuff"

it's slightly disappointing that the rte rolodex keeps popping up with the same old names, they either keep getting cancellations or there are a cosy clique of about 40/50 rte-heads who have a kind of shift pattern in terms of appearances on the show

bressie, cian egan, twink and crystal swing is a really poor line-up

walsh and o'reilly would be interesting if the interviewer was on his game

still though, they need to expand their booking abilities beyond donnybrook

Ironic given his 'old fogie' image (that he propigates himself).....but you are spot on there. I can picture him doing a good job with the ray d'arcy gig on zig and zag.

Be nice to see David Walsh and Emma O Reilly get their chance for public vindication.. Walsh no stranger to the LLS, back in Kennys time he was on defending his article where he cast suspicion over Stephen Roche's big year in 1987. RTE brought in a medical Dr from Beaumount, Bill Tormey to trot out stats and numbers to mock Walsh's efforts to report fact. Totally stitched up, he deserves tonights lap of honour. I know he wont see it as honourable but he's a humble guy. Hope he enjoys it! At 18 mins the emminent doc gets his chance. Not welcome back on my tele!!!

Maybe TWINK is on tonight to give her opinion on the whole Lance Armstrong affair because lets face it she would have more credibility than Dr Bill Tormey. After watching him numerous times on Vincent Browne the guy is a car crash

Anyone know what time the cycling bit is on....

(I could not take more than 30 secs of Twink or Bressie or Crystal Swing)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,737 ✭✭✭Tombo2001

to be honest......scratch that....I'm sure there a few interviews with David Walsh on youtube that are better than one he'll do tonight....

I thought Crystal Swing might have packed it in at this stage. They had their 15 minutes a few years back.

In regards to Bressie who even won the competition last year? Like has the person released a record or anything so far?

David Walsh was talking about Sean Kelly there in that clip at 4:00 (cyclist with pills rattling) according to his book.

Pat Byrne (from Bressie's team) won the Voice of Ireland last year, he released his debut album - 'All or Nothing' in November.

And, who the hell is this Bressie person, is he famous for something?

Kian Egan is a tit, didn't he make up a girl band last year/ year before...where the feck are they now?!

Least Bressie knows what hes talking about.

He coulda been the old Johnny Sexton, if it wasn't for his pesky injuries, so instead he became a pop star, as you do.

They're both as bad as each other. Two huge egos and not half as much talent to go with it.

Evening all. I'm actually looking forward to tonight's show, apart from the embarrassment that is Twink and Crystal Swing.

Bressie is just beautiful to look at - if only he'd desist from opening his mouth because all that comes out is bull****. Kian is a bit of a gob****e but I find his honesty refreshing at times.

I'm interested in hearing Fiona speak - what she went through was horrific and I'm so glad Justice Carney revoked bail - but wtf was he thinking in the first place letting that monster walk???

Also can't wait to see the interview with David Walsh - maybe Tubs will buck the trend and deliver a good 'un for a change. The Lance interview with Oprah was unbelievably self-serving. He was interpreting her questions extremely literally so in his own mind he was giving "honest" answers.

Gonna get the kids to bed, have dinner and will be back on later to see how you're all doing. :)
