If my Bmr is 2200. And wilk general daily activities + exercise I burn another 1000 per day. And I cut my diet down to eating/drinking 1450 calories per day.

Does that mean that because my deficit is 1750 per day. Ill lose a pound of fat (3500) every 2 days?

Edit to say that I know obviously as I lose weight, my bmr will decrease

If you are eating that much below your bmr. Two things will get the way of the 1lb/2days protection.
You probably won't have the energy for 1000 of activity everyday. You'll prob lose muscle as well as fat.

No. It means you'll last a few days, lose mostly water and glycogen, then binge badly and gain weight. Or your body will down regulate activity to maintain homeostatis.

Don't be in a mad rush to lose it all. Take your time, eat a sustainable amount of food and aim for 1-2 lbs per week.

Can you elaborate on how you've calculated the 1000 number.

I'm just gonna jump in here, basically the same as the OP except I'm not burning that many calories but I'm not eating that many either. I'm basically on 2 boiled eggs and salad, an apple and pear a day. I'm now used to feeling hungry but ya, I defo don't have the energy for exercise and am not sleeping well at all.
Basically my plan was lose fat (1 1/2 stone maybe) and put back on a bit of weight but with the right foods to build muscle. Im just under 13 stone now and plan on goin to 12. Is this way of doing it that bad? It seems to be working and at this rate I think I'll be down past 12 in the next 2 weeks.

Just based on gym workouts/general walking I do every day.

the general rule of thumb is any more than 1lb loss per week and you are probably losing some muscle. so thats a 500kcal deficit each day.

have you looked at low carb cyclical dieting?

That sounds like a tiny amount of calories. You shouldn't have to feel hungry all day.

Be patient, aim for gradual weight loss, eat in a way that you can continue after you lose the weight.

You can eat piles of greens without loading up on the calories.

I've learned the hard way, and from some boardsees that really know their stuff that people can lose 1.5 stone handy enough in a 3 week period, but they need to be prepared to have it all put on again shortly after taking the foot off the pedal.

Aim for more longterm changes as opposed to the quick wins - it used to really wreck my head and demoralize me when I'd lose a good bit, feel pretty good about myself, and then have it all on again before long.

    Cheers.
I've got to the stage where I'm eating a bit before I go to bed because I couldn't stay asleep if I was hungry. So that's adding more calories, maybe 200. So I think if I can throw a light breakfast in there I would have a regular day I could stick to and have the energy for a workout.
On a side note: I got a loan of the Insanity workout program for a while. I done the fitness test and Christ it was tough. Anybody else try it?

Depending on what is in your 'salad' from your first post it sounds like you're eating less than 600 calories a day. That's waaaaaaay too low. For anyone.

Use an app like myfitnesspal to calculate your approximate calories for weightloss. You should probably be eating more like 1800 to 2000 per day if you're planning to go to the gym regularly.
But please use the stickies, and/or a good app to figure out your own personal figures.

I've seen that app, looked decent enough. Might as well give it a try.

I know I've been starving myself but i think it has worked to an extent. I can't eat the size portions i used to, cut bread almost completely out and there's no urge to snack here and there. This could all come back though by the sounds of people on here.
My diet was bad, I'm basically trying to start over. I'm actually a bit excited. Had salmon for the first time yesterday and planing a Veggie pasta the weekend. I'm a bit clueless with food though so hopefully it works out.

Definitely try the app, it's a brilliant tool.

Yeah, long term starvation isn't sustainable and will in time lead to binge eating, crappy sleep, long term failure etc.

    Slow and steady does it.

It's great that you're so excited but you don't have to be quite so mean to yourself to achieve your goals! :)
