Do you think it is ok to subsidise 1 meal a day for the likes of a Nutrisport 90+ Protein Shake made on water while TTC? Healthy balanced meals are had for the other 2 meals. Thanks in advance.

    Why?

    It's 200kcals with 40g of protein.

Similar in macros and calorie content to 200g of lean chicken.

If that's all you'd eat for a meal, you're missing an awful lot.

Thanks for reply, reason I'm asking is because it's a whey protein with soy leicithin and on various websites I'm browsing at the moment say to improve your fertility that ideally you should stay away from the likes of gluten/dairy/soy/whey etc while actively TTC. However, I love the gym and want to keep up my normal diet (which includes 1 shake a day while in training) but I'm just worried about taking in way above average whey & soy, everyone I ask seems to be a bit vague so just said I'd ask around boards.

  • ah, I had no idea what TTC meant. I was trying to figure out what kind of training it was.

Ehm to be honest, I haven't a breeze. Nothing I have ever looked into before.

If you've been advised to steer clear of whey protein, and can get protein from other sources, then try do so as much as possible.

Other options for protein shakes are Hemp or Pea shakes.

The amount of soy leicithin in whey is very small.

Thanks, will look in to Hemp & Pea as alternatives.
