Hi all, I've just moved into a shared apartment in Customs House Square and really want to get back down the gym. SV Fitness is just across the road, but I find it annoying that they don't open on weekends! Can anyone recommend the best/closest gym with better opening times? Thanks! :)

    Sano Vitae does open weekends?

What about crunch fitness temple bar. Is there anyone a member here to offer feed back or the gym on Townsend st owned by Dublin city council

Ben Dunne gym on Jervis. Get the luas to Jervis St. and it's just there.

Open 7 days and only 180e or so for the year.

Best gym in city centre is probably Raw but that's based on what I'd be looking for in a gym.

Thanks for the responses - I looked at SantoVitae and have e-mailed them because there are no membership prices listed on their website - worried that might mean they're pricey! I am not looking for any crazy weights routine, I normally do 3 sessions a week of about 30 mins cardio and 45-60 mins weight stuff. Looking to stay fit and toned, not become massively buff.

SanoVitae in the Clarion can get very busy and its very small especially the weights section. It's quite pricey too.

SV Fitness is cheap, only open during the week but there are lots of students there so can be quite busy during the day too. My friend had his wallet and phone stolen from the changing room too.

I was a member in the Club Vitae in the Maldron Hotel on Cardiff lane. Its a 5 min walk from customs house, head across the Sammuel Beckett bridge. I can't really fault this gym. Very decent cardio area with lots of machines and the free weights section is also very good. Can be quite busy in the evening but I rarely had to wait for a bench etc. They also have a decent pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi! Staff are nice too and membership was reasonable.

Crunch is grand, decent opening hours and a range of classes, the majority of people in it are sound enough. The free weights are ok and there's a decent enough range of cardio, although the rowers if they were actual boats would have sunk long ago. Generally it's decent enough.

I haven't been to the one in Townesend St in years but it wasn't great then although it was cheaper than Crunch.
Ben Dunne in Jervis St, I've never been but two guys I work with used to go, they both left and the idea I got was it's crap.

Sanovitae IFSC is €60 per month (€55 in corporate scheme i think). More expensive than SV fitness but it opens weekends, has a pool, less studenty & they provide towels for you!

The gym is busy 5m-7pm weekdays but you are never waiting for cardio machines. Weights section small but never really any wait times. Weekends you have the place to yourself as all IFSC workers not around.

Classes are good but with a limited schedule.

Have been a member 6 month and overall i would recommend.

Maldron Hotel on Cardiff lane [Behind grand canal theatre] has a decent enough gym and pool in their basement..

Not setting world on fire, but for a lunchtime work out or quick blast in the morning its just grand :)

Have you done any of the classes particularly the spin classes and if so what are they like?
