Lost an assignemt,Open Office,gone,any hope of retrieval?

Hi had a 300 word 3rd year Psychology assignment, ready to submit. It was an Open Office file. First I was told it couldn't be opened,then that it no longer existed. Now it's disappeared from my list of files entirely. My protection is Avast free. Is there any hope of retrieval? I'm considering dropping out. Thanks F

Had you saved the file anywhere on your computer ?

Give this a shot, download and run recuva

https://www.piriform.com/recuva

It may find it somewhere and let you recover it.

Also have a look around OpenOffice's Help section in the program, or its website, they may have information that could find it. Usually programs like that and microsoft word save copies as you are typing up work as a .tmp file
