Cholesterol checked without fasting

    I had my cholesterol checked last year in the morning after 14 hours fasting and it was 3.7. Last week i had blood tests for another reason, they also tested cholesterol and it was 7.4, i had been eating all day though and the blood was taken 20 min after a meal. The Doc said not to worry as i wasn't fasting, how much bearing would not fasting have in the levels?

    There is a reason why it's usually done after fasting; if you're worried, do another, proper one, or just ignore this one.
