The quest for a mini-me...

    Hi fitness peeps,

Between pregnancy, illness and an operation on my leg, 2012 really did a number on my fitness level (not to mention the size of my bum). So, in an effort to re-access the less elasticated side of my wardrobe and become someone who doesn't faint at the thought of school sports day, I've restarted C25K 3-4 times a week, with a weights session on the off days, and overhauled and greenified my diet. I'm about 3 weeks in, and still quite motivated

But I'm a complete rookie when it comes to diet and exercise, so I just wanted some opinion on whether what I am doing will work or whether I need to change things up a bit.

    Typical diet:
Brekkie: 30g porridge made with 100ml skim milk, with seeds and a teaspoon of maple sugar
Lunch: Salmon and cream cheese wholewheat bagel
Dinner: Something form Jamie Oliver's 15 minute meals (steak and salad, chicken and sweet potato), and one of those mini Mr Kipling cakes
Snacks: Handful of sesame sticks, or nuts, or granola.
I have one takeaway a fortnight and the occasional pack of wotsits. I'm working on cutting these out, but if i do everything at once, I know i'll quit so I'm easing in to it :)

C25K = 30-40 minutes of moderate intensity jogging & walking

Weights: 3 x 10 reps of... ah jeez, I don't know what any of them are called. About 4 different types of squats. 3 types of planks. Lots of moving arms from one position to another (i'm a zombie! I'm a starfish! I'm changing a lightbulb! etc etc :D). I left out forward lunges because they hurt my knees. It takes 20-30 minutes.

And a quick question - can I combine different moves together? Like can I do my zombie arms thing with a squat? If I do that should I be aiming for more reps because I'm cutting my workout in half?

    Any and all help/advice appreciated!
