Terrible stuff but I would question the description of it as a 'fat top shank'!!!

The main man is "only" 8 off the lead now! C'mon tiger top the sh@t out of the field!

    Tiger out
2 shot penalty after the round.

What was the penalty for? I presume it was for something that happened on the 5th as he got a 7 there....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,088 ✭✭✭Trampas

Incredible turn of events with Tiger given a two shot penalty for an incorrect drop and at three over very unlikely to make the cut. Real blow after he battled hard and it will be his first missed cut in a regular European Tour event.

Hold on - two shot penalty for Woods and he misses the cut. Takes a drop for an embedded ball on teh fifth when he shouldn't have done as the ball was in sand.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 589 ✭✭✭Dealerz

He asked the efficient German for advice rather than rules official- kaymer said go for it- tough one as its his first missed cut in 24 events on european tour apparently- however when in doubt....ask the ref!

Journalist brought it to notice of official. The Chinese betting synds will be running a muck or not as the bet/case may be.

Really very surprised that Tiger -

    1) thought he was entitled to free drop from an embedded ball when it was neither 'through the green' or embedded in turf/soil!!

And 2) didn't call a rules official in for advice!! Normally these days pros call in the officials for the simplest of situation/drops etc.

Straightforward well deserved 2 shot penalty in my book.

Still ,its a pity him and Rory will not be around the weekend.

Tiger is all over the place in Farmers last round.

But great recovery and is -2 playing like a hacker. :D

I know I stopped liking him for a while - but golf is not the same without him .

I know - just something about his power and skill - or the fact I never seen anything like him when growing up.

Hard to forget all the great stuff he did. Great player. Looks like he is very close to having a great major.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,426 ✭✭✭✭FixdePitchmark

Bloody odd ball crowd at this - they don't sound like they know anything about golf. Tiger (wwhhooo hhooo) ( Great Line Tiger whooooo oooo oo )

    Drunk ?

Tiger again all over the place -

But short game looking like it is on its way back.

Comfortable lead - Will win this.

Tell the Bastard bookies that. They have already clipped him by 2,3 even 4 points in one case. Over reaction for sure but killing me as I haven't backed him for the Masters yet. Sick.

    More the nature of victory.

Yes not the strongest - but there are 10 - 15 pros there he had to play very well to beat. He is 7 to 10 shots ahead of them.

From 150 yards down , he is hitting flags - knocking them dead.
Bunkers - chipping in. Putting well.

    My eyes are opening.

He would not have a chance at masters , driving like that- very open once you go outside tree line here - he is outside or inside trees.

So , if he gets that right - watch out.

I thought the masters was all about the short game.

Watching phil Mick taught me that.

It is - but have you been seeing how wide tiger is - your talking Mcilroy 2011 - 10th. As in, ball gone.

Can it REALLY be that bad at -17 ?

If so then he could be stuck on for the masters if he sorts it out.

I just felt that at 7/1 he is a free bet for the masters EW.

    Very simple.

    His record there is ridiculous.

Yes - so bad sometimes it is good on this course. Never seen some of the shots he is hitting - 40 % fairways- but not too much trouble on most holes here.

The pros here are saying - the problem is , he does not seem to have a shot he can go to for safety - he tries to play power fades and they can go 100 yrds left of target.

Anyway- he should be able to sort something out in next few weeks.

    8 shot lead.

Looking on a double bogey on this hole.

AAAAAhhhhhhh Foreright - watching it -10mins for bloody adds.:(

Yes that is the shot again - now say nothing till i catch up.
That is such the shot i do - as i said , no major if he does not get rid of that - but he will.

He would be giving 2 shots a round to the field with that move. 8 shots.

Did ye get money on for Masters lads (lol)

fangee - you did not believe me earlier how bad his driving is - I'm very rarely right here.

But - it is the first time since riding gate - that he looks like he will win one (a Major).
He won't drive this bad all season and everthing else is very good.

    4/12 fairways

Now 5/13 with a duff type drive.

Well I've already had a decent bet for the masters at 7/1 but I wanted quite a bit more on but I'll be lucky to get 5's after this.

And that Robert Garrigus has been very frustrating. He's been costing me.

How can anyone play with the pace of play, 3hrs to play 9 holes? They need to seriously penalise the group ahead of Tiger, he waiting on every shot with his hands in his pockets.

Tiger in trouble again facing another dropped shot.

He is playing like me at the captains day last year coming down the stretch :)

caddy was poor there - afraid of Tiger ???

1 or even 2 clubs out

Definitely. He had the right club in his hands and then picked up the 5 iron. Would have been a beauty otherwise.

Yesterday feherty said on the GPS tiger had 137 to the hole.

Tigers caddie stepped it out and gave tiger a yardage of 125 I think it was. That's some difference at this level of golf.

What happens??? Tiger lads short in the rough 10 yards or do short.

Pull up your socks joe or it will be P45 time.

Joe seems more a subservient caddy - for all his spa-ness the big man would of kept tiger on the 4 there.

    3w in rough

    AGAIN

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 334 ✭✭Oilbeefhooked!

Gotta be said the pace of play here is absolutely shocking , sure it must be having an effect in tigers game - waiting 5 mins at least on every shot!
Slow play is the scurge of this great game and its time the authorities start handing out penalty strokes to offenders.
