Knee Injury

    Hi All,

I have a problem with my right knee. I have had it for sometime now and its beginning to really irritate me as its severly interrupting my sporting life. I am about a year behind where i should be because of it. Anyway here is the problem.

My right knee, on the outer right to front lower right of my knee constantly feels stiff, sore and pressurised. If i bent my knee while sitting down a very apparent bulge comes out of that area, it seems to be liquid as I can actually push my finger into it. Throughout the years I have taken months at a time rest for this but it never completely heals. I recently had to stop playing soccer because of this, I took the months of october, november and deptember off playing football to try sort this problem out altogether, I am back playing since the 1st of Jan and already I am feeling the pain, and the extreme pressure in my knee.

I play football on a range of surfaces, Mondays I train on grass and rubber based astro (stamina running on the grass and 5 aside and shooting/set piece drills on the astro), tuesday would be an indoor type surface (5 aside game), wednesday is the pitch and rubber astro again, Thursday i rest, Friday is the pitch and astro again, saturday is the indoor surface and Sunday would be a match on a pitch, I play in the Premier division in the midlands so by no means are the pitches bad surfaces.

Could anyone help with this as come February if this is not sorted i could be looking at more time out, its really effecting my fitness and i am very sluggish wit hthe ball constantly as I never get a good length of time playing to sharpen up.

    Any help would be appreciated

Diagnoses can't be given on the forum I'm afraid, you'll need to see a medical professional.
