We've had a number of new entrants to this -bit of craic & no budget constraints involved -just pick 10 players each week & hey presto...1st week starts tomorrow so get your skates on if you want to join before Week 1.
You can always join later if that suits also

If I enter a team now will the points won this week not count? I picked a team weeks ago but kind of forgot about it and didnt join any leagues.

If the team was registered before the close for this week then you should be ok (I think:confused:). In any event join up as the more the merrier:). Its a long season ahead so a week here or there isnt going to make a big difference

Bump...we have 19 so far in this league. Should make for an interesting golfing year. This looks like a hassle free fantasy league and the overall prizes are good also.

New to Boards and have signed up for the league!

some score from jedward this week!! doubt i'm gonna have to have a bit of a clear out from my team!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 403 ✭✭Beaulieu

Rambo's Rascals leads the way with an impressive €841.3k after Round 1. Having the winner and both of the joint runners-up does help a little!!

We have 30 in the league now and a reminder to everyone that Qatar Masters starts this Wednesday so make sure you make your changes prior to then.;)

I had a look at the prizes on the website -not bad at all.

It's a long season so if you havent yet joined -no worrries (we have had 10 additions since start of play last week) but you are very welcome to come on board.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11 Tykegolfer

The prizes are very good, I can personally vouch for that. I was at Carton House on Friday for a fitting as I got lucky in Fantasy 2012 and won a set of irons and a bag! :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 403 ✭✭Beaulieu

Results for Week 2 (Qatar Masters) are in (eventually:rolleyes::rolleyes: - took European tour website ages to update)..

We have 34 teams entered now:):)

Weekly winner: Declan Basquille from Strandhill GC who earned €510.7k this week.

Overall leader: Jedward's Rambo Rascals with €1.009m with Paulos_Cork lying in 2nd place (boy) with €943.7k.

Next week is in Dubai with a similar prize pool to this week. Don't forget to submit your (unlimited) team changes before first group tees off on Thursday.
As ever feel free to join up at any stage as its €'s for points so the real shake-up will happen once the WGC and Majors come around.

Wow looks popular this year. I think there were only a handful of teams in the boards league last year. I was doing well for a while then half way through, I missed a few weeks then didn't bother anymore.

Great to see you can have unlimited changes this year, should make it a bit different.

I'm gonna join the league now, cheating a bit as I just signed up a new team on my home email and already had one going on my work one! I would have merged the accounts if I could, but European tour doesn't seem to allow you do that.

Anyway, best of luck everyone, hope we get a few big winners from our league :)

I just clicked on the League and only 20 members showing up in the list. My name isn't there, but I presume thats because I only joined last night

My screen shows 40 teams stevieob:confused::confused:. A fair few have joined this week but we've had more than 20 for a good while now. Send me a PM if you still are encountering problems.

Is there a section that tracks how your 10 are doing on the leader board?
Ala a Fantasy Football type Points section were you can monitor how the are progressing during the game week?
Have had a look around and can't find anything.

Not within the game but if you click the flag to the left of each player' on your team on the Leaderboard on the ET site it acts as a "Sticky" for that tournament so you can check it throughout the 4 days.

Thanks Beaulieu, that's what I've done, was hoping there would be a quicker way around it.

I can see myself loosing a bit of interest in this, my first year doing it but it's almost as if they give you too much choice.
I'd prefer if you had to pick/commit to a core of 6-7 players that would have to remain constant over a specific time period (say, next 5 tournaments or so) and then pick and choose the 3-4 subs per week.

Reviewing each tournament and picking 10 players each week is a fair bit of work if you're taking it seriously.

....What am I complaining about, it's a free game after all :o:D

It used to be that you had to pick 15 and you had 5 changes per week. So you had to be strategic to try and look ahead to the following weeks to make sure your whole 15 would be playing. It is much much easier now.

Very average week in the end after a promising start, bit annoyed because I'd strongly considered Gallacher! Ah well, only dropped 90 places and still hanging in the top 200! :)

bit annoyed because I'd strongly considered Gallacher!

Snap, but very happy with my weeks performance all the same, just a shame that I hadn't picked a team for the first few events... Ah well, off now to pick my team for Jo'berg and see if I can climb any further up that ladder :)

Out of interest how do you guys select your team?

I look at guys who have been in form the last few weeks (never pick the winner from the previous week) don't really worry about the course, i.e long course pick long hitters etc.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18 dublindan13

For me it's recent form, and who did well in the event last year tbh. Also take tips from local golf pro who I play poker with.

Oh and obviously I look at odds.

Now, don't be giving it away... There's a pretty good (90%) chance I'll be close to you in points this week

*off I go to create a team with no SAFAs*

    I'm winning, I'd be delighted if I'm copied :)

I think choices this week are fairly standard anyway!
