Advice on Diet

    Hello

I was just wondering if people could give me advice on my diet. My goal is to lose weight.

This is what an average days diet consists of for me.

    Breakfast:

Smoothie (strawberries, banana, an apple, a kiwi, orange juice, 1tsp spirulina)

    Lunch:

2 slices of homemade brown bread with a tin of red salmon
One oat cake with 1 tbsp of humous

    Dinner:

Chicken fillet with veg and 60g carbs (pasta or rice)

    Exercise: 40 minute walk

Drinks: 2 litres of water, 1 black coffee

I assume I am having too many carbs? I could leave out the carbs with my dinner no problem (I'll just pile on more veg! :))

    Veg are carbs.

Nothing wrong with eating wholefood carbs.

I think you have to control on your extra outside food so it can also effect on your weight lose process.

I meant starchy carbs that require more energy to burn off, not fibre.

I was always of the impression that it was advised to only have wholefood carbs in one meal in order to lose weight?

I'm sorry but I don't know what you are referring to? I assume snacks, but I didn't include snacks in my diet.

Use myfitnesspal.com. It will help you see what calories you are taking in and how many you should be to lose weight etc. it will also give you lots of nutritional information on the products you are consuming.

Btw you seem to be consuming a large amount of sugars in your breakfast.

Would you recommend less fruit or none at all?

I use my fitness pal and I don't find it great tbh.

There's nothing wrong with consuming natural sugar from fruit.

One of the online calorie trackers will give you a nutrient breakdown of your food so you can see what you're getting.

When I was 3 stone overweight I just cut down on my food intake and did plenty exercise, there was no special diet. That was over 3 years ago and I have been maintaining my proper weight ever since. With me white bread was the main culprit.
