If you are a member of a Yacht Club, it will have connections with other clubs all over the world. They may be able to put you in contact with a Vancouver club and/or supply a letter of introduction etc.

Check out the forum on www.sailinganarchy.com. Lots of US and Canadian members. Even just search the various forums for info on Vancouver.
But be careful when you post, they tend to flame newbies for sport. But it's just a bit of harmless fun.

The Royal Vancouver Yacht Club and the Royal Victoria YC (on Van. Island) have reciprocal arrangements with some clubs in Ireland - both are great clubs and the former has fantastic facilities. It is a marvellous area for sailing.
