Never liked the look of Lamborghini's. Always preferred Ferrari's. They actually look like cars.

Lets all chip in for a months rent in Knightsbridge and some cameras and helmet cams.
Once you can find the nearest petrol station, it would be like shooting fish in a barrell

On a serious note though, how much in taxes, paid in petrol alone, are the car owners contributing to the local economy.

Why are they not forced to register their cars in UK ? All on Kuwati plates with I am sure Kuwati licenses. If they are living in UK long term, does the law not say they must get UK license ?

They're only over for 3 months, then they fly the cars home again.

They can seize the cars if they are not insured or they believe that to be the case (happened in the programme) and I'm sure you can get fined etc if you are caught speeding etc
    See below
    Temporary imports

You can usually use a vehicle displaying non-UK number plates, and not have to tax or register it in the UK, if:

you’re visiting the UK and don’t plan to live here
you only use the vehicle up to 6 months in a 12-month period (1 single visit, or several shorter visits adding up to a 6-month period)
the vehicle is registered and taxed in its home country

Correction: he had the car lifted because the PC had no way of verifying the insurance at the side of the road, from the saddle of his mountain bike.

The guy got his car back (I assume the following day). I don't believe for a minute that these guys are either that stupid to NOT have it in order, knowing they'll be targeted.

You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

While I completely underatand their problem with the late night driving but you live in the middle of a city. You cannot dictate who can and can't drive past your house and what they drive. These people are bigoted racists and post code snobs IMO

Silly comment. At what point are they racists. They are from Saudi and are clearly stating that. If you had your street overrun with rich, untouchable guys making too much noise you would be annoyed too.

It would drive you mad though, parked outside your house just reving the car for no reason.

Did come off very racist after the conversation with the police officer.

Do you honestly beleive these people would hav half as big a problem with this if it was their son.... Not likely. Its a boost to business and obviously quite the tourist attraction. Hardly a bad thing for any country strapped for cash

You cant dictate that people cant drive down a 30mph residential street (city or not) at 60-70mph+ ? How do you figure?

Yes....if it were their son, he would get an ear full.

What boost to business. Bet they claim back the tax on any purchases as they are entitled to do so.

UK is not strapped for cash

Your sensationalising it now. You saw one idiot do it and obviosly should be dealt with but its only 1 or 2 of them at it. Hardly silvestone

Might only have shown one idiot , but its clear there are loads of them there for the 3 months of the summer and theres no shortage of them lashing up and down the road.

If the residents are pissed off about speeding get the council to lay down speed ramps.
Noise should only be an issue after 11pm so assign a few extra cops. Issue a few fines and make some cash.

None of the residents have spoken to these guys. The "Gulfies" as they are affectinately known as, even said if someone complained to them instead of about them, they'd do something about it

    You must live a bubble.

If they kill someone at those speeds, and they are in a residential area, then they will be hardened criminals. What they are doing is criminal by any definition.

If you were knocked down, would you be ok with it ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,908 ✭✭✭✭mfceiling

They wouldn't get away with that here...

Pull in there rasheed....you're here for 3 months rasheed, that means you are a resident...let me just check the VRT on that......that'll be €28,000 rasheed.....put her on the back of the low loader there PJ...
