Dates for a big April/May UK tour have been leaking for a couple of weeks now, most of the venues are in places they don't play often.

Ticketmaster has the Nerve center in Derry up as 1st of May, tickets on sale 18th Jan. Hopefully there's more Irish dates :)

Probably a Cork or Galway date then if they're playing venues/cities they usually don't play in.

Great band, didn't really like the last album but would still head if it was somewhere not to far away.

(Would love a tiny venue in Dublin though!)

What about Whelans:eek: or if we were lucky enough somewhere like Fibbers ha

Yeah hopefully there's a Cork or Limerick added. Would love Galway but doubt it.

Pfft. Might as well just go busking at this stage :p

Apparently the tour is something special so I wouldn't be suprised if they're playing the entire new album or something.

dear United Kingdom and Ireland... a little heads up.
on Wednesday, at around midday, we will announce (and have a special two day pre-sale via our site) some special UK shows for April.
there will be 24 shows in total. with the exception of one or two of the shows, none of them will be in what would be considered 'major' towns or cities (ie: no Manchester, Birmingham, London etc). Most of the shows are around the 600 capacity mark.. so a little more 'cozy' than recent shows.
We're focusing on the sort of places that we've either never been, or not been for years, or that don't generally get shows at all. (to give you an idea of the sort of thing; is there anybody reading this who lives on the Wirral? when was the last time you saw a rock show without having to get on a train or in a car and go to Liverpool / Chester / Manchester or whatever? yeah.. its that sort of tour).
Its taken ages to put together, so only got it finalised this week (we know there's been a couple of dates that were rumours going around... but at least one of those shows isn't happening now. that's not our fault, it was just that they were leaked before they were confirmed).
So, yes... please spread the word, and tune in on Wednesday around midday (maybe even a little earlier) for the announcement.

Wonder what places they will do in Ireland? Cork or Limerick or something? Along with the belfast date

Did they not play in Dolans Warehouse before in Limerick?

Think so , but they did say some places might be places where they have not been or either have not been in ages

Yeah Dolan's looks pretty likely then. God I'm awfully excited.

Cork sounds pretty promising since they haven't played here in 5 years.

They said most of the venues are around 600. So they probably wouldn't bother with the Roisin, but god that'd be great :)

Id say the 600 venues will be the UK , Sure the last few times they played over here has been in the Academy which is 800? So it wouldnt be that much of a step down . Id say they will have to a dublin date

I know but the Roisin is 280, which is real small. I'm in Galway, so if they play the Roisin I'll be delighted :p But it seems a bit small when they could just as easily do Limerick where Dolan's is 400.

I wouldn't be surprised if they skip Dublin. They don't play often, but they do play it every album and the idea is that they're playing places they haven't played in years.

Ah i wish the dublin show was 18s

9/10 times I prefer gigs being under 18s. Way more moshing and jumping around. Even if you're not participating in such nonsense it gives the whole show a lot more energy.

l usually don't mind but last time I saw them, a lot of the crowd were right dicks. It surprised me because that was the third time I had seen them, and their crowds were usually grand!
It really took away some of the fun for me so it'll be interesting to see will an older crowd be very different.
You're totally right about the energy though, a younger crowd definitely livens the place up.

Wounds support for all Irish dates as well. New ES single coming this evening. This tour starts tonight it's gonna be basically impossible to refrain from peaking at the setlist between now and when it finally gets to Ireland :p

Wounds should be amazing, especially in a small venue, and be interesting to see the setlist alright. Shikari have said themselves that 'All eyes on the Saint' will be on it.. so could get a real vintage one!

Does anyone here know the capacity of the Pavillion?
Also is the setup like dolans with a separate room for gigs?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 172 ✭✭callmepetardu

I've seen them 3 times, but that new single sounds decent. I didn't like a Flash Flood of Colour, but I'm tempted to go to this to see the new stuff...

you defo should go, always hell of a show :D

    Here's the setlist then;
    System...
    ...Meltdown
    Sssnakepit
    Gandhi Mate, Gandhi
    The Feast
Anything Can Happen in the Next Half Hour...
(Attempted twice, failed both … more)
    The Paddington Frisk
    (Live premiere)
    Havoc B
    All Eyes on the Saint
    (Live premiere)
    Arguing with Thermometers
    Mothership
    Encore:
    Sorry, You're Not a Winner
    Return to Energiser
    Zzzonked

Apparently they were a bit sloppy and last night was 'good but the worst time I've seen them' according to who I've spoken to :/ But apparently a few bits went wrong for them. S'pose they'll have that playing all the town halls and sheds on this tour.

I'm sure it'll pick up a good bit. I love the setlist, although it's a tiny bit short. Wanted to hear
    Havoc B
    forever.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 880 ✭✭✭celica00

thats it for the whole tour?
    well.... :(

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,132 ✭✭✭Just Like Heaven

Well that was it for last night (the first night of the tour) anyway. Apparently they didn't actually play
    Anything can happen
after trying twice, they just skipped it. And they don't like playing it anyway so I wouldn't be surprised if they've changed it for something else by the time they get here.

I actually really like the setlist, but yeah I suppose if Common Dreads is your favourite you might be a bit disappointed.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,585 ✭✭✭bennyl10

its a really really good setlist imo.. they said on facebook a few technical issues went wrong for um last night.. suppose a few hiccups are to be expected with playing these kinda venues..

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,132 ✭✭✭Just Like Heaven

From what I heard it was actually down to Rory C more than anything else.
