    do you have a microwave in work?

    I think the best replacement is just good meals. Grilled Chicken with peppers and spinach for example.

    Convenient is rarely healthy. Effort (even a small bit!) makes a massive massive difference.

    I'd say rather than trying to change everything continue to bring your sandwiches as a packed lunch (presuming that you don't eat 6-7 slices for lunch that is) and replace the bread in your other meals as this is easier to prepare and organise when you are at home.

    I am a bit biased as I am not a big fan of bread but I love things like oatcakes and ryvita. They come in loads of varities and are much healthier and plus you can pile them high with the fillings you usually put in a sandwich.

    Brown rice and sweet potatoes are two other great replacements and good, healthy sources of carbohydrates that won't bloat you etc.

    It also depends on what type of bread you are eating? If it's white sliced pan then yes 6-7 slices a day is too much but if its the likes of McCambridge or a good multigrain/multiseed bread I would continue to incorporate that into my lunch as these type of breads are a good source of wholegrain and fibre and easy on the digestive system.

    That would be like swapping whiskey for vodka. Essentially they are both alcohol.

    Wraps = bread.

    Lettuce wraps? I find them a great alternative to bread, just use iceberg leaves as you would a wrap and make some yummy salad to fill them with.

    sounds like youre eating bread because of habit.

    Break the habit. You dont need bread, you only think you do.

    replace it with nothing. take a tupaware box, use what ever filling you normally use and mix it all into that. (think subway salads) load the salad with greens, peppers, cucumber, mixed leaves, etc you wont even miss the bread.

    I think I read that a sandwich option with a wrap has more calories? but it does feel lighter to eat.

    A wrap has around 200cals, 2 slices of white bread has around 200cals.

    The question is why do you feel you have to cut out bread?

    I would say, bread has a lot of cals but little in the way of nutrition. its a good place to start eliminating unnecessary cals from your diet.

    There is a lot of press and controversy surrounding bread and its 'unhealthyness' or otherwise.

    In reality its 200 cals in a meal which provides very little nutrition you can't get elsewhere, that's a good enough reason to drop it. Its not essential to your diet.

    A couple of boiled eggs in your salad .. or some tins of 3 bean salad from Aldi really bulks out your lunch
