No team news as of yet but Everton face an in form Chelsea side without the influential Big Mop of Fellaini. However, Everton have won their last two on the bounce without the Belgian so should be brimming with confidence. Benitez travels to a ground where he only lost twice at with Liverpool and would love to send Everton packing and put a real dent in the Blues' hopes of an unlikely 4th place finish.

From what I've read, it seems both sets of fans see a draw as a good result but this is probably true of more of Everton fans than Chelsea fans. I'd certainly take a draw right now.

Draw or narrow Chelsea victory for me although hopefully I'm wrong!

Have the toffees winning this one by a goal. Been looking forward to this match the most this weekend!

Chelsea will be doing well to get a draw here. Fellaini is a big miss for Everton though.

Chelsea to win it for me, maybe late on in the game from the bench. All the teams with bigger squads won yesterday, with strong second half showings when opponents showed the fatigue of playing games in short succession.

    1-2

Everton van be got at 21/10 as well if anyone fancies them, that's a fantastic price for a side with two wins on the bounce playing at home

If there's one time of year you need a strong bench it's now and Evertons is really poor. Really think they'll struggle late on here.

How are Chelsea lining up in this one?

    Is it?

    Cech
    Aspilicueta----Ivanovic----Cahill----Cole
    Luiz
    Lampard
    Ramires
    Mata
    Hazard
    Torres

Very disappointed with the Everton line up. However, in the past this is when we get our best results. If we get anything, it'll be because of Osman and Pienaar.

This is a real test for Chelsea and a gauge how far along they are under Benitez.

Saying that Chelsea have a poor record of Goodison.

Ramires will be patrolling the right hand side as extra cover to Everton's main attacking threat of Baines and Pienaar.

Yep, Ramires will be on the right to try and nullify Baines.

And Pienaar - he has hurt us before!

I can uerstand our negative line up but I'm still a bit disappointed with it. Moses can offer the same kind of energy and cover on the right that Ramires does but he offers a greater attacking threat.

Best quote I have seen yet

Man up you trannies, no saha, fellaini or neville, they are scouse girls,

    and
"I wonder if Everton fans will join in the applause for Roberto Di Matteo on 16 minutes. Will make for interesting viewing..."

Going to say 2-1 Chelsea, I think we can take this game.

Nice to see young Ake on the bench

"Young Dutch centre back Nathan Aké made his Chelsea league debut last weekend as the Blues defeated Norwich City, 1-0. Still just 17, Aké is one of the youngest players to feature in the league this season.
The youngster's arrival at senior level has long been anticipated, having played a major role in the club's FA Youth Cup triumph of 2011-12. On the national team, he also won the UEFA European Under-17 Championship twice - the second time as captain.
A terrifically composed player on the ball, the former Feyenoord defender has also spent time in a holding midfield role, but it is at centre back that his height (5-10) speed and technique all come together to offer a potentially brilliant package. At his best, he has offered a one-man defensive wall at youth level.
There is a long way to go in his development, but every sign is that he could develop to become a fearsome defender. Chelsea must be brave with him, where they could have pushed Jeffrey Bruma and Michael Mancienne more in the past.
Whilst he is simply too young to make a huge impact at first-team level in the next 12 months, it will be interesting to see just how many opportunities he is afforded by his club. Aké is certainly a player to watch in 2013 and beyond."

About 4 on 1 in the box for Everton there, Osman walking through.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,136 ✭✭✭✭Rayne Wooney

Moyes said yesterday he was going to flood the middle to stop Chelsea attacking through the centre.. Does the complete opposite and plays wide. Mind games level 10 :p

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,494 ✭✭✭Columbia

Looks like the ref is going to play the full 90 instead of blowing up after 20, he's clearly been paid by Chelsea FFS.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,023 ✭✭✭Barr

    Torres first touch ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,627 ✭✭✭Sgt Pepper 64

Big test for Rafa and so far failing it. Can beat the likes of Villa alright. Should have moses on the wing, dropped Hazard for him. And Ramires in the middle where he is most effective
