Enduro is competing at this race at the moment.

Just watched him trot through the start/finish area on the webcam, only another 66 hours or so to go.

Too right! I'm really looking forward to how his AR experience transfers to this event. Interesting to see how his rest breaks are structured.

That's long smashed now. Still over 7hrs to go and Enduro is up to 464km (288 miles). Looks like he'll reach his original target of 300 miles.

+1 unreal. Only 12 miles off the lead. Unreal.

Via twitter @ukrunrambles: Eoin Keith stopped at 67hours after running 300miles! Also broke irish 48hr record. Joe Fejas overall winner 329+ miles! bonkers #ATY2012

    Well done enduro, great running.

    That's great running. Congrats.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 233 ✭✭Outside

Unbelievable stuff, am I correct in saying that he's only the 4th person ever to have broken 300 mi in that race? Yiannis Kouros being one of these people? Great going, well done.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 217 ✭✭Dunebuggy

Yes you are correct, 4th person in History in that race with Joe being the 3rd. Eoin ran 300.27 Miles to get back to the support point. An amazing achievement of many for that lad!!

I believe Yiannis Kouros record in that race was also beaten by Joe.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,818 ✭✭✭nerraw1111

Yeah Kouros course record was broken which was 323 miles. Shows just how good Enduro's performance was.

    Congrats Enduro - savage performance
I struggled to cycle 500k in a week, and you've run the same amount in less than 3 days. Mind boggling!
My only question is why did you stop when there was 500k and Irish 72hr record so close to being broken? I'm sure you had 500 reasons to stop, but I'm just curious what goes through your mind in the final stages of an event like this :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,441 ✭✭✭Slogger Jogger

I expect a suitably epic race report :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,799 ✭✭✭Enduro

    Thanks all!

I'll definitely need to get the race report writing going. It was a great race in every sense. 'twas a new way to start the year anyway!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,196 ✭✭✭PaulieC

Just a suggestion...72 hours is a long time to be running and I'm sure you get bored. You should bring along a Dictaphone and record your report while you're running. Two birds, one stone.

    :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 233 ✭✭Outside

If you managed to come up with one word every 2 mins running it'd be a 2000+ word race report, surely manageable?!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 164 ✭✭Rogue Runner

What an unbelievable feat. Well done Enduro.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,340 ✭✭✭TFBubendorfer

Winner Joe Fejes has written a race report. Check it out. Enduro gets plenty of mentions.

I've written the first part of the race report and published it on my blog here. I think its 2000+ words already, with 2 more days to go :)

Would love to see more pictures even if you have links to other people's blogs, thanks. Looking good so far. Like How do you deal with chaffing over that kind of time ?

Great report there fella for the first day. Looking forward to the rest of it. Congratulations on the achievement itself. Quite inspiring in the true spirit of the word (as opposed to a sobbing cycling cheat finding God on a chat show kinda way).

Amazing achievement and a great report - looking forward to the next installment.

Brilliant run and race report is matching it so far.

Incredible. Running that distance is the equivalent of running from Dublin to Galway and back again. He's some animal.

I might be wrong - not very good on miles - but I think you'll find it's more!! Google says Dub to Gal is 210 km, so 420 total. Didn't Enduro do 500??

I mean, hey, it's only 80k more. Not even two marathons.

Oooops, just realised he only did 486k.

Still longer than the recognised Dublin to Galway to Dublin route though.

Great warmup race report!! Its such a fantastic Achievement, hope the AON lastnight doesn't delay the rest of the report. Header !!!

I haven't driven that far since I was on holidays in France a few years ago.

    Well done Enduro!
