Accuracy of Polar HRM calorie formula?

I got a polar FT40 for Christmas and its a great gadget. Just wondering how accurate the calories burned formula is? I did my usual pull routine today along with core and a quick HIIT session on the rowing machine and it says I burned 1109 calories. Does this seem accurate? it seems very high to me as I never knew how many calories a typical weights session burned before I got the watch.

    I'm 23, 76kg and 180cm

    Pull routine is 5 x 5 of:

    Chin Ups
    Wide Grip Pull ups
    EZ bar curls
    Hammer curls
    Shrugs
    Rows

    Core Routine:

    4 x 8 Captains Chair
    3 x 30 second planks with 25kg plate
    3 x 30 second side planks with 25kg plate

    Thanks for the input

Did you put all your details into the watch correctly?
