When they say "please put on your headlights" before going into the tunnel, they mean DIPPED headlights. Those are still headlights.

It still makes little or no sense though.

Full disclosure: I actually noticed this a while ago but hadn't for a very long time.

Not obvious, but just realised, some states in the US have no motorbike helmet laws.

The song "Is she really going out with him?" is sung by Joe Jackson and not, as I have always believed, Elvis Costello.

If you're bitten by a poisonous pet snake in Ireland you're seriously f--ked as we have no anti-venom.

You get poisoned by ingesting poison. Anti venom would be f*ck all use to you, unless you are bitten by a venomous snake.

Just an aside. Platypus venom is nasty. It's not so much that the pain can last months, it's that things like ibuprofen and morphine have no effect.

I was just asking as , I think we in the Northern Hemisphere usually refer to them as 'Duck-Billed Platybus'

I thought maybe there might be .... well .. other types.

Bobby McFerrin sang it, many people think he committed suicide but he's very much alive.

Bob Marley's song - 3 Little Birds - has the line "Don't worry, about a thing....." Probably where the link is being made.

    Platypusses (platypy???) have venom?

Jaysus, is there anything on that god forsaken continent that doesn't want to kill you - even the funny animals are poisonous.
In fact Kylies fanny is probably poisonous (but fúck it what a way to go, beats death by platypus anyway:D)

on the plus side, if you ever forget your anniversary, and your other half has a go at you.. just exclaim "April Fools - of course I remembered..." hop in the car and get something pronto!

The girl in the Harp lager advert that ran in the 1980's ("Sally O'Brien and the way she'd look at you") is in fact Yvette Carte-Blanche (her fictional name, played by Vicki Michelle) from 'Allo 'Allo.

I'd get great mileage out of that with the missus on our anniversary. "Got you lovely diamonds for our anniversary".

    NAH ARPIL FOOLS.

Probably get to only use it once though.

Technically ever species of octopus is venomous. But there's only one that's dangerous to humans, and by dangerous read 1,200 times worse than cyanide.

Take a wild guess where it lives ?

What's even wilder is that the original inhabitants probably wiped out the big critters. Komodo dragons weighing a tonne. Long legged land crocs.
Kangaroos have a nice way of grabbing you by the shoulders and disembowelling you with the claws on their hind feet , in the past there were bigger ones.

    https://museumvictoria.com.au/melbournemuseum/discoverycentre/dinosaur-walk/meet-the-skeletons/genyornis/
Genyornis was a large flightless bird, considerably taller and heavier than the modern ostrich or emu. It had powerful legs and tiny wings, and probably most closely resembled its living relatives, ducks and geese. But instead of having webbed feet and a duckbill, Genyornis had large hoof-like claws on its toes and a big beak

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quinkana long legged land crocs

Humans have been the apex predator on this planet for a long time.
