Assume that C4 will have the Sunday night football game, probably haven't updated their schedules since the game was flexed.

The Sunday night game is on channel 4 like it always is right?

It's listed for 12.55am alright on Channel 4, but every NFL schedule I've checked has the Chargers @ Jets listed for an afternoon kick off.

C4 def has 49ers v Hawks. Jets v Chargers was original game but due to flex scheduling the NFL allowed to put more attractive game on prime time spot.

They'll have the 49ers/Seahawks game. They had originally had the Jets game scheduled for Sunday night but switched it around a few weeks ago to have a more meaningful game.

That explains it. Nat Coombs and Mike Carlson confirmed on their podcast it would be Hawks vs Niners

Hopefully they'll have the game of the weekend - 49ers v seahawks, that would be a great start to the xmas holidays - i'll be staying up late so.

I doubt they will get a pasting.

GB should win, but it wont be embarassing.

If GB win by field goals I'd be happy cos they cant seem to kick one of them to save their lives!

I reckon Pack are due a big game. Cobb is playing awesome jones has been putting together a great season quietly, Matthews is back, sam shields is back, casey heyward is there, nelson is to come back(not this game) woodson is to come back.

Agree with that. After watching the Titans struggle to put away a shocking Jets side and the Packers take care of the Bears handily enough, I think we're looking at a big win. We're starting to look like the Packers of the last couple years when they moved the ball with such ease. Green/Cobb running well helps and if Grant can get some sort of form together then we should be tough beat.

Sunday night gonna be a great match but am most looking forward to Vikes@Texans. I think the Vikes can do it. Season defining game for them and with the Texans already in the playoffs then they may not be 100%, even though a win for them secures home advantage.

Plus I think the homes fans will be rooting for AP (who was described as purple Jesus by a fan this week lol) to take a chunk out of the record too and if Ponder can put up numbers like the early games they got a shot although against one of the meanest defences around will need to be faultless.

The Vikes have been great at home this year so if they can face the Packers with their destiny in their hands then I actually believe they can do it. Suns game is a huge ask though but you never know:pac:.

Pretty depressing to think that we are at week 16, where has the season gone?

I was just thinking this the other day - you wait so long through the offseason, the the draft, then moni camp, and finally the season arrives, and before you know it, it's flippin week 16 and only a month or so of football left :(

It's a pity, after last weeks bumper crop of must-see games, there's relatively slim pickins this week. Vikings v Texans should be good, the Peterson record chase, Vikes trying to make playoffs and Texans looking to secure #1 seed in the AFC. I think the Texans are good enough to shut down the one-dimensional Vikings.

Bengals v Steelers - Should have a playoff feel to it this one. Hard to fatham either of these teams this year. I'll go with the Steelers, at home coming off a tough loss to the Cowboys.

Giants v Ravens - Battle of two teams, badly in need of a win. Not sure why I'm picking the Giants, but we've seen them do this type of thing before (not 34-0 mind!), and we know they have the quality when their backs are against the wall.

49ers v Seahawks - Well they won't be putting 50 on the 49ers, but I'll take the Seahawks, at home, who need to win to stay in contention in the division.

I know it's not plausible but how much better would it be if the NFL and the college season didn't run concurrently!

what do people think about Bengles @ Steelers?

    The Guardian.co.uk sided with Bengles.

    My gut says Steelers.

But the Bengles look better in an accumulator.

Never bothers me -- the postseason makes it bearable!

Would be much better if college football and NFL where on different times in the year.
16 games is plenty to ask on the body of a pro footballer.

Often thought the same myself, because it's either feast or famine. The problem is, the feast doesn't last long enough. :(

Is there a reason why there is a game on Saturday ?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 12,395 ✭✭✭✭mikemac1

They play one game on Saturday as the league and ESPN don't want a MNF game on Christmas Eve

Unbelievable really. I was saying to a mate the other day that the Cowboys/Giants opener feels like yesterday. The year as a whole has flown by though.

TD's for TG would be alright for me, but helps him too, really need a huge night from Turner cause he has AP and Foster :(

going give the bbc coverage a go after taking in the ESPN build up online, lying down to 36inch tv rather than laptop is pleasing. whats with the bias for chargers on the couch.

Jeez, never realised how weak the BBC coverage was. Was expecting better considering their outstanding superbowl coverage.
