I found these videos online, basically found them hilarious but quite scary too. What does after hours think. Is this guy completely off the wall or does he have a point??

Link to more (a lot more) on youtube if you watch it there

Lip reading is a bitch enough as it is, as well as when its on a youtube vid skipping.

In work so can't really listen to it.

What am I meant to be outraged about?

I think it is a load of sh!t myself but I've been fascinated by the videos the last two days. This point of view interests me and not something I believe myself it still needs to be heard. Some of the other videos talk about the pay gap and there is some resemblance of a point mixed in with loads of other ridiculous points.

In other videos they talk about pay gaps and that in certain sectors woman and men get equal pay but the work is not equal (men are doing more)

Also I think that the negative potrayal of men in the media needs to be tackled which is also brought up.

Women get into the olympics .
The best womans world record is not even the mens qualifying time .
Women are the same as male paralympians .
They should be in the paralympics .

The Soviet Union are decades ahead of the Capitalist economies in Gender Equality. In the early 1990's one of the top directors of the Soviet health service complained that her industry was being devalued at Political level because of the large number of women in the top decision-making jobs of the health service.

Next: Manny Pacquaio wouldn't last two minutes against Vitali Klitschko, so what's the point of weight classes in boxing? What a moronically stupid argument, not to mention incredibly offensive to both female and Paralympic athletes. Why do we have weight classes in combat sports, or age grades in pretty much any sports? Because it creates a fair basis for competition.

As for the mooted idea about women being overpaid relative to their output: a single-digit percentage difference in world-class performances in a physical contest has about as much relevance to productivity in the average workplace as the relationship between ambient temperature and the number of millimetres below my body that my left testicle hangs at.

I just said what was in the video dont blame me . I pretend to believe women are as good as men at everything .
I dont even think that in an office environment they care more about territory and their percieved position than the task at hand .
I dont think they get a period and spend the working day in a huff .
They are just as worthy as the same money as men .

Women and men are not competing against each other in these sports, so I don't really know what his point is. He's just using differences in strength, speed and stamina, which we all already know exist, to be misogynistic. Being better at sport doesn't make men better than women. Does the fact that women have recently passed men in IQ make women better than men? No. So, no, he doesn't really have a point.

It doesn't really, because there are other factors that come into it. It's the first time that it's happened, and it's being put down to the fact that a lot of women these days juggle family life with being mothers and home-makers and such. It's a reflection of modernity. It doesn't mean women are automatically and naturally better than men, and it certainly doesn't mean all women are better than all men (which is what the video was suggesting, albeit in relation to sport).

Thread title is misleading. The fact that the fastest and strongest men are faster and stronger than their female counterparts does not equal sexism at its most extreme.

Whilst the thing about having women compete in the Paralympics was harsh, there is a point about women receiving equal money to men in sport. Even taking away the performance gaps that exist, there's a difference in the amount of people actually interested. How many people actually watch male events, such as 100m (considering it's one of the bigger events in the athletics program), mens Wimbledon final etc in comparison to the women's version. The pay should be appropriate to not only the performance level of the athletes (although much like weight classes, it's hard to make a huge difference in pay through this) but also on the amount they affect viewership (either TV or the amount people are paying to get in to the event)

Why do we allow men to compete in a 100m sprint when clearly a greyhound or horse is much faster.

    Kangaroos for jumping

    Dolphins for swimming

    Monkies for gymnastics

    Deer for marathons

    Oxen for wrestling

Humans are the problem, with their stupid faces bleeeeeeh

You only have to read the website that goes with this video to see where this is all coming from. Bet all you guys out there never realised how oppressed you are. Apparently it's not enough that us men dominate the world of money, sport, politics and all the rest.

Apparently that's not enough and we need to put women back in their place. The kitchen probably.

He seems like a rather bitter man. Bet his favourite sport is watching hunky scantily dressed men racing around a field kicking a ball.

In most western countries there are NO barriers to entry for women, so it's nobody’s fault but women’s. I always hear people crying that there aren't enough women scientists, engineers, politicians, etc. Boo-fucking-hoo, if you're a women and have a problem with it get a degree in Science or engineering, run in the next election yourself, do something instead of complaining about it.

In regard to the video, I'd be in favour of women competing alongside men in all competitions. Awh no women qualified for the 100m? So what, get better.

So he's making a video saying that men are faster and stronger than women?

Does he think everyone doesn't know this already?

So he thinks everyone should compete together and let women only get on teams if they're able for it?

    What a fool.

He seems to think that his 'analysis' of qualifying times is somehow ground-breaking!

Why not have women's sports? What's the f*cking problem?

Some people really need a good hard laughing at.

Reminded of an exchange from Calvin and Hobbs

Calvin "Do you like being a girl?"
Susie "Its gotta be better than the alternative."
Calvin "Whats it like? Is it like being a bug?"
    Susie "Like a WHAT?"
Calvin "I imagine bugs and girls have a dim perception that nature played a crual trick on them, but they lack the intelligence to really comprehend the magnitude of it."

You're probably a little bit biased.

Also, the point was that women's IQs are increasing at a faster rate because they tend to be mothers and home-makers and also pursue careers. It's not talking about whether they're good at it or not, but that this is the reason they have caught up with men and subsequently passed them. Previously, it would have been the mothers staying at home with the children and keeping the home, and the fathers would go out and work. Now the roles are shared which is the explanation for increasing intelligence. Also probably has something to do with women in the modern world being allowed to pursue anything they like to their fullest potential without being held back.

Tennis is a bad example. I only found American viewer numbers but they had:

    Mens:
    2011 - 2.6million
    2010 - 2.3million
    2009 - 5.7million

    Womens:
    2011 - 2.2million
    2010 - 2.2million
    2009 - 3.2million

They actually used to make the argument with tennis that men should get paid more because they have to play 5 sets where women only have to play 3 - like they're on the clock or something!

Surely it is not surprising that people like to watch hot young girls grunting around the court though is it. I'm sure womens beach volleyball has much higher viewers than mens too ...if there even is a mens beach volleyball!

Like what has been pointed out already we know male athletes are physically superior to women, the facts don't lie but why would this ever matter when they don't compete together. The video's only purpose is to stir up trouble.

    http://www.tennistweets.com/blog/24/2009-wimbledon-facts-and-figures.php

    2009 Wimbledon

    * Wimbledon Men’s Singles Final: Roger Federer’s victory over Andy Roddick was watched by a peak audience of 11.2m (6.25pm) viewers on BBC One.

    * Ladies’ Singles Final between Serena and Venus Williams was watched by a peak audience of 4.2m (with the match averaging 3.4m)

    http://www.irishtimes.com/newspaper/sport/2012/0630/1224319039408.html
Independent research revealed and by way of comparison that a debenture ticket for Centre Court next Saturday (women’s final) costs £850 (€1,050), while the following day (men’s final) it is an eye-watering £3,500

    Quite big differences there

Women aren't physically as strong, but they are every bit as good at sports and there is definitely increasing interest in certain women's sports.

The issue is that the media has historically not taken women's sports very seriously so they never really get the coverage or the sponsorship.

Tennis and athletics are the only areas where you're seeing huge change in that.

I don't think Irish attitudes are quite as backwards as some countries though, although no where is great.

We've a few major female sports figures, Katy Taylor being the most recent.

Women should be allowed in the Olympics. All events should be completely open, i.e no discrimination between sexes and weight etc. If they qualify - grand if they don't then tough.
