Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi Guys ,

A question on behalf of my mother . As the carer of a 96/97 year old lady with dementia who requires 2 person care . We have been informed this morning that the carer who usually is the second person morning and evening will now not be working Christmas eve , day , St Stephens Day , New years day as the company are refusing to work .

We are based in Limerick and are wondering does anyone know of carers who are working these days - we are willing to pay the company for all hours .

Also any advice on where we can get some help ?

Maybe contact your local Public Health Nurse to see if they can suggest someone or a company that might be suitable?

Try Comfort Keepers or Bluebird care, they might be able to at least offer some advice...

Thanks a million , will get their numbers first thing in the morning and ring . Community Intervention Team will only deal with those at home alone , I used to wonder why people put their relations into the regional at Christmas - found my answer , a loved one cant do it alone ... Horrible situation to be in for a carer - ps I will be travelling , booked before we found this info out otherwise I would of helped no problem .

Thanks a million - update - we have a private carer for 2 hours on all 4 of the days . God knows how much it will cost but mam is thrilled and they have really comprehensive care plans and stuff . Thanks for the tip
