Just got one, second hand from Ebay. Got out today to the local lake and when I got home, I finally had the fabled experience that you all go on about of images "popping" right off the SD card. I think I might start to enjoy this photography lark after all.

Now I know, these type of shots are easy and cliche ridden. But still I'm a happy bunny! Let the abuse begin. And please do post your own UWA gems.

Nice composition, and the reflection on the water looks very nice.

What aperture were you at? none of the image is incredibly sharp, which it should be since it's such a wide lens.

Seconded. A buddy of mine let me use his on a trip to Utah earlier this year, and I was totally hooked. Want. Maybe Santy will be good to me.

I have always had to stitch shots to get a full view of the Duomo. Next time I go to Florence, I hope to have a 10mm. Excellent Shot.

Does anyone else find this lens is a bit weird indoors when using flash?

Perhaps it's just a communication error with my 7D and that particular lens, but every time I use a flash and that lens indoors, the white balance goes out the window. My photos are always unusably warm. I always go through camera raw editing anyway, but it's something I've noticed that annoys me a bit.

Outdoors it's fine, though. Can't quite figure it out.

While I don't own one, I did have the pleasure of borrowing one from a fellow Boardsie for a trip to France.

I've had great fun with this lens over the last few years, but I've upgraded to FX so unfortunately it's not in the bag anymore.

    Yeah no problem
If I remember correctly the camera was tripod mounted

the settings were ISO100 10mm f/4.0 Shutter speed 1/2500 sec

In processing I created a pseudo hdr using photomatix
then finished it off with a few tweaks in lightroom

Was it one exposure or several? How'd you meter it?

Yep, looks like an artifact from pushing the saturation in PP.

I believe the f3.5 one isn't as good (based on what I've read online). Plus a super wide lens like this is most likely going to be used for landscape and therefore doesn't 'need' f3.5

I use mine handheld indoors a fair bit at f3.5 but I don't tend to have the option of bootsing the ISO so I have been glad of the extra stop a few times - not often but sometimes. The main advatage is that when I bought mine the 3.5 version was about €100 dearer

Had this lens and stupidly sold it. Iv been missing it ever since. Iv tried putting money aside for it since August but surprise costs (Car and Electric Picnic) have meant that I havnt been able to buy it.

Going on a trip to NYC in April so might pick one up then, Still cant decide whether to go for this or the Tokina 11-16 DXII (I have a D5100).

Looking at the absolutely stunning photos this lens produces has led me to buy one. Is €270(ish) for a used nikon mount F4-5.6 with a slight mark on the front element a good price? Would a mark as small as this be a problem in use?
