Sad day for The Kingdom another of the great Kerry team gone,he brought us out of the dark days in 1997 as manager to win our first All Ireland in 11 years,my greatest memory of Paidi was watching Kerry's Golden Years as a young fella(It was at least watched once a day during the summer holidays) and watching Paidi tearing up and down the wing turning defence into attack and popping up with a few scores,a super player he was.

    RIP Paidi

57 years of age is far too young to be passing away.

There is never a good time of year to pass away but this time of year is particularly tough for those left behind.

I hope his family and friends find the strength to cope.

    May he rest in peace.

This was shocking news to see on twitter. One of the great personalities maybe in all of Irish sport IMO. Guiding Westmeath to a Leinster title is something that I'll always remember as a hell of an accomplishment, never mind all the major accolades he won prior. My sincerest condolences to his family and friends.

Hi all. Let's not turn this into a grammar or spelling grudge match and keep it for what it is. A condolence thread for a true legend.

Met him this Summer in his pub in Ventry the day Donegal beat Down in late July. Even though Kerry wern't playing the place was jammed. It was actually a bit comical, there was an Irish music session down one end of the bar going strong, and elsewhere people were glued to the TV up to the last. Some craic, and Paidi in the middle chatting with people and having an extremely happy disposition. All around the bar there are photos of people who have visited the bar, and people who Paidi encountered on his travels. Dolly Parton, Charlie Haughey, Bono and many many others, adorn the wall of Paidi's pub.

I'm truely saddened by this news.
