"The" foreign queen ??? I think there's more than one queen who's foreign to us. I suspect we may even find, upon further analysis, that all queens ( of the royalty sort, anyway ) are foreign ... and abroad, even.

The non-royalty sort are really a different constituency for the purposes the point though

When I was a kid we had no RTE. It was a straight choice between the Queen or some arty French 1930s b&w ****e on BBC2.

Most people grew up in houses without BBC so RTE would get more play on xmas day out of tradition.

I just think a national publication shouldn't do it, HIGNFY is a satirical show. It's offensive, the Radio Times wouldn't take the piss out of an Irish broadcast.
