Whitening teeth with banana peel?

I have recently read that the inside of banana peel can whiten your teeth if you rub it on your teeth for 2 mins. Can someone tell me how true this is, and if anyone has tried it.

Oil pulling with coconut oil is the way to go.

i head if you rub your sperm into it(not trying to be smart) into the banana peel and wipe your teeth with it, it works

dunners or superquinn have it, 500ml of cocowel virgin ( or extra virgin, not sure.. too lazy to check) for 5.99

if you're just using it to oil pull that 500ml oughta last you an age, but it makes a prety great moisturiser too

I've yet to find this in any Dunnes or Superquinn near me ...can I ask which branch you buy it from?

both in carlow. they have them with the rest of the cooking oils and goose fat and stuff. dunno if the layout is the same country wide, guess you could ask someone working there but I doubt carlow is some lone coconut oil hub of the south east.

How do you go about applying it? Also I have the coconut oil tub stuff not in liquid form

i just grab a fork or a spoon, dig out a chunk of it, break it up with my teeth until it's small and mostly melted then just start gently swishing it around my mouth for 10-20 minutes


it doesnt have to be a huge chunk, you'll get more than enough to swish around with a decent sized amount

while coconut oil is great to eat, everywhere i've read online says not to swallow the stuff you've been swishing around your mouth while oil pulling. I dont know if that's bollocks or not as they invariably mention "toxins" which are obviously real things but on the internet health-hippy websites toxins is pretty much a catchall term for "any old bull****"


oh, and i dont know if it's terribly safe to spit down the drain either as it will harden up again in no time once it's left the warmth of your mouth which could end up blocking the pipes..tubes.. whatever.

Oil pulling does nothing, bananas do nothing except for both the removal of plaque from teeth. Its not going to do any harm really (except maybe giving the bacteria some fructose from the bananas to turn into acid) but honestly you better off looking into the boring, labour intensive brushing and flossing.

Cue anecdotal evidence.......
