I know Pearson and Sotiropolousidocos are headlining, but I felt Storming Norman needed to be mentioned in the title. I'm not sure how many people have been following TUF: The Smashes, so maybe people aren't aware that he's had the final. He joins a short list of people from Ireland to fight on a UFC card. A win will see him get a contract for a few fights.

Lightweight George Sotiropoulos vs. Ross Pearson

Welterweight Robert Whittaker vs. Brad Scott TUF WW final

Lightweight Colin Fletcher vs. Norman Parke TUF LW Final

Middleweight Hector Lombard vs. Rousimar Palhares

    Preliminary Card (Fuel TV)
Featherweight Chad Mendes vs. Yaotzin Meza

Light Heavyweight Igor Pokrajac vs. Joey Beltran

Welterweight Mike Pierce vs. Seth Baczynski

Welterweight Ben Alloway vs. Manuel Rodriguez

Lightweight Brendan Loughnane vs. Mike Wilkinson

Light Heavyweight Nick Penner vs. Cody Donovan

Ever since that pratt parke gave his allegiance to the english rugby team over Ireland/NI i've wished him nothing but bad

Besides all that Freakshow is a really sound down to earth guy and a damn good fighter to boot

    I hope norm gets pummelled

allegience, wtf are you on about?

Great to see childishness is alive and well.

I don't give a hoot either way but I did find it strange that he mentioned the English rugby team. Whether he's Irish or N Irish (I don't care) the same rugby team represents both countries.

I like Colin, he seems like a really decent fella while Norman tbh has come across as a bit of a tw@t IMO. I think Norman will win it though.

I thought it was odd too. I thought maybe he didn't know there was an irish rugby league team (there is isn't there? :o)

Seriously thoughly, its a edited TV show, nobody knows the context of it. There was probably hours of comments about pommy rugby before hand. Getting called a pom, and team UK for weeks etc, etc

think he commented about it on twitter afterwards.

I think Norman will control him and get the win.
I think Colin's a funny bloke. And he has a spot in the LW division win or lose though.

I'm kinda hoping that, seeing as there's no aussie in the LW final, he comes out to the weigh-ins as Russel Bandingo

Do you know what time they will be airing locally and GMT?

I didn't follow this season at all. Only watched a couple of episodes. But I hope Norman does well in his fight. Huge achievement for him and I wish him the best in the UFC. Hopefully he has a successful career at the top level.

I really wish Norman all the best for this!! In my view it is now a given that he will end up with a UFC contract!!

Here is a video of his first outing with us way back at Cage Contender 3 -v- Myles Price

Wishing a person nothing but bad? You stay class Schrader.

Bar the first 4 episodes I haven't really watched this season. That aside, I do hope Norman does well, it'd be nice to see someone from Ireland (the island!) make it into the UFC :)

Fair play to Parke, but id like to see Fletcher win. Brendan Loughnane will have a future fight in the UFC. Maybe on the London card in Feb. I realy like Brad Scott too. Id usually root for the opposition to England/UK but the Aussie lads were boring and not that goood either

Rooting for Norman but initial prediction is Freakshow via triangle or guillotine. Jesus I don't care if he follows the Nigerian football team it's great to see a lad from this island who's fought on Irish shows against Irish opponents in the UFC.

Who cares what nationality he claims? It really doesn't matter. He comes from this little island and he's gonna be fighting in the biggest organisation in the world. That's a fantastic achievement and we should all be wishing him well.
And if you say that you wish him anything other than success, then you're an idiot in my opinion and I wouldn't want to listen to another word you said.

The people who criticise his nationality will be the same people who rise up and give him a standing ovation in the 02, if the UFC come back here and Norman is on the card.

Anyway best of luck to him and I hope he wins the fight and gets the winners contract.

And they'd be the ones trying to be his best mate if they ever met him in the pub.
I guarantee you that NONE of them would criticise him about it to his face either. Typical keyboard warrior stuff.

EDIT: Cheers for the sneaky ninja delete, man. Now I look like I'm talking to myself! :D

Anyone know what time this is on ESPN at? And are ESPN showing both cards or will we miss one?

Haven't checked the schedule but I believe that they're both on ESPN. One on Friday night/Saturday morning and the other on Saturday nigjt/Sunday morning.

Hope it will be good final, cards looks pretty good.

Gives Norn Iron something good to cheer instead of all the ballix the last 10 days over a flag! Freakshow seems a great lad, very likeable and funny to boot :)

Paddypower is offering interesting odds. Norman is at evens, Palhares is 13/8 and Pearson is 10/11.

I'll go with that treble and maybe a large single on Norman.

I'm tippy toeing around this subject as i'm new here and i've received an 'infraction' for that post.

The only thing i will say is that he doesn't consider Ireland as all encompassing.

If i'm wrong i'll be the first to hold my hand up. All i mean by this is i wish he'd take pride in his country NI rather than England

    Sorry if i offended you

Its his choice, what his nationality is. I for one don't care what his nationality is, he fought on the local circuit here regularly and 100% deserves our support.

Fair enough but i'm only against him 'cause of who he's fighting

Jesus cracking fight between Wilkinson and Lougnane. Think Wilkinson deserves it but jesus he's took some shots. Credit Brian Moore as well. Only watched his fight against Wilkinson recently and it was very close. Must be encouraging to see him get a win in the UFC

Yes and no. You obviously have to air some side of caution against Hector Lombard but Palhares didn't properly get going though.

LOL, so funny listening to Norm's corner.

    "watch that orm sur".

I say funny, but it's actually fantastic to hear at this high level. A testament to MMA on this island.

Going much as I expected, Norman is just the better fighter overall. Fletcher reminds me of Struve in earlier fights. Immense reach but just doesn't seem to be able to make use of it.

Why no trophy presentation in the cage?

I know Dana isn't there but surely Anik, Florian and the ring girls could have managed it?

I hope Sots gets his arse kicked.

I was a big fan in his early fights, mesmerising transitions on the ground. But having encountered him at a few events, I'm of the opinion that he's an arrogant rude sullen guy, (hope that doesn't count as fighter bashing, just my opinion).

He really came across badly on the show too IMO.

I'd say Pearson is an underdog though.
