Hi there. I woke up yesterday with a fine big lump on my leg after a presumed insect bite I reckon. Later that evening I noticed a few more and by bedtime I'd counted 5 nice bites on one leg and one on the other. I tend to be a bit allergic to bites and come up in lumps with mozzie bites or horseflies- (in slightly warmer weather ;)). But it's flipping freezing and I didn't expect any bites this time o' year .

insect bite or a random allergy? Took an anti-histamine and they;re gone now :-)

Could just be your roommate sucking you as you sleep OP

Maybe check your bed for fleas.

    Jaysus, hope not!
Seems like a one-off. My OH was unscathed also....

Your oh might not be allergic to the bites.

    Do you keep pets?

My whole rugby team came out in bites from training on the grass pitches back in October. We all assumed it was just us and that we might have bed bugs or fleas until we had a match and one girl mentioned it. Suddenly everyone was showing them off! No idea what brought them on but they left big ugly marks on my legs that are still there now (albeit fading now).

I heard recently there is an epidemic of bed bugs going round - waking up with a cluster of red lumps seems to be a sure sign.

I googled them and expected that they be teeny and invisible but they're quite big, like flies in size! I can't believe I wouldn't have spotted them in bedsheets (....since boil washed....just in case.... yuk!, yuk! yuk! )

    No re-ocurrance. fingers crossed.

    And no pets!
