Standard TV (as opposed to HD) must look chronic on it.

I would, but for the fact that if you turned the volume up at all you'd probably blow all the windows out of the house!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,117 ✭✭✭✭MrJoeSoap

Or a decent HD/3D projector and screen for just over a grand...

    No thanks.

    4 times the definition of a HD tv. so..... 3840 x 2160

There are no Movie's or TV shows that actually play at that resolution. The maximum you'll find a blu-ray or .mkv file is 1080p. To actually utilise the definition of that TV, you need the type of file that cinema's use. (try getting your hands on them!)

What an utterly UTTERLY stupid thing to buy.

How big is the remote control?

I'll wait a year or two for Aldi to sell them for €199 ;)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 13,925 ✭✭✭✭anncoates

The €999 really swing really swings the deal for me.

27k would have been far too much to pay.

Came to join projector brigade. Why not buy. 13 56 inch tvs? :p

Content can also be accessed via laptops and mobile phones, while the remote control can be operated using voice recognition technology.

Thjat's great, So I can spend 27k on something so I can end up watching it on a 4 inch screen.

Id say it is. Its about 4 foot top to bottom for an 84 inch screen.

If I had €27k to piss away on something so frivolous, this TV wouldn't be anywhere near the top of the list.
Just sit closer to a normal sized TV.

There is a 101inch plasma in Tallaght civic centre. Largest commercially available at the time (bout 3/4 years ago).
Cost roughly 60k, plus the wall mounted bracket cost 13k.
    Truthfully.

T.V. is the place where the pursuit
of happiness has become the pursuit of
    trivia
Where toothpaste and cars have become
    sex objects
Where imagination is sucked out of children
    by a cathode ray nipple
T.V. is the only wet nurse
    that would create a cripple

It's not the biggest TV ever to be sold in Ireland. In a previous life I was selling a 103 inch TV for 90k. Only ever sold the one:( We installed it in Charlestown centre.

and how much is the flat screen on the left?

A belief in gender identity involves a level of faith as there is nothing tangible to prove its existence which, as something divorced from the physical body, is similar to the idea of a soul. - Colette Colfer

you could build an extension for a home cinema room for that bloody much, crazy.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 13,422 ✭✭✭✭Bruthal

Projector setup would look better at that kind of size anyway. For a fraction of the cost.
