Sound problems connecting laptop to Tv via HDMI

    I seem to be having a problem hearing sound from my tv when I have it connected to my laptop via HDMI. The sound only disappears when I attempt to watch a video online e.g. YouTube or when I am streaming a show. It works perfectly fine when I play music from iTunes and when I am watching movies that are in mp4, avi etc. on my computer.

    Any help would be great. cheers

    If you are running windows 7 right click on speaker icon in taskbar and select playback devices. Then select hdmi as default playback device and restart the application.
