Me thinks we need a thread for the complaining and jumping for joy (depending on the situation)!

Oh and best of luck! :D

Anyone know if they'll accept an old student card at my exam tomorrow?

    Looks like a No:
    ULSU Education Officer
Note to students with old identification : Old cards will not be accepted during examinations. For more info or to get a new Student Card go to Student Academic Administration in the main building.

    Glad I saw this now,
Always use my old ID card cos it's a better picture,
Will bring both tomorrow just in case,
    Doubt they'll really check though..
The lens of the camera which took the photo on my second ID card was definitely vaselined up previous to me...
Only reason I use older one...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,555 ✭✭✭Ave Sodalis

Wait, what classifies as an old and a new student card?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,277 ✭✭✭Chris Martin

I'm assuming one that doesn't coincide with the year in which your course ends..
I've 2, mine from last year,
But changed course this year so have a new one..
    New card is expired 03/09/2016
    Old one is like 02/09/2015
Obviously dates vary depending what year of your course you're in..

Old cards have the UL logo at the very top, above your name and ID, and were last issued in the AY 2010/11 I believe.

New Cards have the UL logo in the middle, below your name and ID, and have a smaller picture.

EDIT: Old cards also have the magnetic strip on the back similar to Credit/Debit cards.

I would post pictures, but my photo is not fit to be shared...

Studied for a week straight for MA4003 (Eng Maths 3) no problem, was able to sit down and just go at it. Now that that exam is over, I'm finding impossible not to procrastinate for the next few exams!!! :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 271 ✭✭Ginge Young

Just confirming for you guys, you will not be allowed into an exam with the old card. We do check them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,264 ✭✭✭✭Fireball07

Oh well, study week was a failure...I managed to study one day  I am sooo fcuked. Ah well

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,407 ✭✭✭lkionm

I am so good at procrastinating. I had facebook open on my laptop, then I went and checked it on my phone.
After I realised what I had done I went and made coffee and took a break from study by watching Dexter.
    **** sake.

Ditto. I'm fairly okay for the first exam, but there's two that are iffy (though I think I've passed one already with assignments) and I need to cop myself on for Wed, Thur and Fri study.

Have my first one 12:30... stayed up so late studying that I'm not sure I'll be able to stay awake in the exam. :(

T-120 minutes to go. I've been doing a bit this morning, more than I've done all week. I definitely think studying at home does not suit me, think I'll be in the library the rest of the week.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,533 ✭✭✭Daniel S

Delighted, the small bit I managed to do in the 12 hours spent in the library yesterday actually came up in the exam! :D Normally it's study loads and none of it comes up!!!

True that, was a joke to be honest like!

Realised 3 minutes into 2 hour exam I forgot to bring tissues with me...
Rest of the exam then trying not to sneeze and sniffing,
Worse it was an essay exam so had to stop every few minutes to commit the disgusting act of sniffing,
However I assure you, it'd be much prettier than its alternative...

Don't think I've ever asked to go out during an exam...
Except Leaving Cert, just to take THE piss and for a break and a stretch of the legs :P

    Up at 8am to study.

By 1pm, I had shít, showered and shaved, had breakfast then lunch, cleaned and hoovered the room, made the bed, organised my music library, cleaned dust out of laptop, soldered headphones back together, took all the dead leaves off a plant, filled all my water bottles, sent a load of thank you notes for birthday presents, changed the battery in my calculator and packed all my dirty clothes for when I go home for Christmas.

I've never been so unproductive and productive at the same time before.

Spent the last two hours looking at past papers. Key word there being looking. :o

I've gotten a big done. Managed to compress 85% of the lectures into about 20 pages of key points and references. I think it's going to be a long one tonight.

Thermodynamics is one of the main reasons I changed course last year,
    Physical Chemistry destroyed me.. :P

    First Car Crash exam :(
    Expected it and got it...
Total blank when I looked through the paper and guessed everything,
Which is hard when you've to write the answers... :/
    Up all night too,
Will have a nap and prep for tomorrow,
    My final exam, thank God!

I still have 4 to go! Ugh!

Only upside is that I should be fine in 3 of them, and I only need 23% out of 70% to pass the last and toughest one so I shouldn't be seeing any of these modules again in August.

    Ian Clancy?

I feel sorry for him. great lecturer who's stuck (not really cause he loves it) with a module that has to cover so so so much material. and in second year when everyone is used to slacking off.
