Coming up on the show this week....

Former PD, Michael McDowell will be in to tell us about his documentary - 'Lost Son' which will air on RTE 1 next Monday@ 21:35.

McDowell investigates the Civil War killing of Republican Brian MacNeill, which has haunted his family ever since. By piecing together accounts from the military archives, IRA papers, interviews with descendants, and family letters, McDowell paints a compelling picture of a family divided and a country riven apart.

Italian chef Gino D'Acampo talks about how to diet on pizza and pasta over the holidays!

    Gerald Kean
will be in tell us about life, love and the state of the country and healer and clairvoyant Helen Parry Jones discusses a phenomenon that many find hard to believe yet thousands find comfort in.

Music on the night will be performed by The Coronas who will be playing the title track from their latest album 'Closer to You'.

Oh dear, they can't get Gino d'Acampo's name right...  ;)

And after last week, one wonders once again whether or not that's the full line-up.... ;)

Sorry, I hadn't noticed the mistake, I took the details from the SNS home page. I'll correct it now :)

    Dear SNS researchers.

    Please stop booking Gerald Kean.

He wasn't interesting the first time. Or any time since. He won't be any better the 15th time.

    Thanks.

I wonder will Brendan ask her what she made of the (recently axed) presentation of Physics Live on TV3.:D

I was never so happy to see the back of a 'programme' in all my life. It was funny for the first week or so but all in all it was vile, it just preyed on vulnerable people

    Her website has this quote
Gay Byrne: The Late Late Show, RTE
"... the reaction to her was phenomenal, I do mean phenomenal. We have been at this a very long time now and we know the difference between phenomenal and phenomenal!!"

    http://www.helenparry-jones.com/testimonials/media.html

No link to that quote, it doesn't really sound like something Gay would say.

She was also a guest on the LLS in October 2011. We didn't like her

Am I the only person in Ireland (apart from the Editor of RSVP) who actually liked when Gerald and Lisa were a couple? I thought they suited each other and I was sorry to hear they had broken up :(

All joking aside, I have nothing against them but they represented a Celtic Tiger style Excess and Celebrity which hasn't been en vogue for a long time. They had Media Coverage way out of proportion to their 'celebrity' status

But It is a shame to see anyone's Marriage end.

Just think what it did to those of us that stuck it out ;)

I'd love to see Flathan or Theo on The Saturday Night show tho, I reckon they'd be pretty entertaining outside the PRL hucksterism.

I agree Skid, they reveled in all the media attention, I have friends who know Gerald Kean very well and they say that he is generous to a fault and very loyal to his friends.

I know he is full of bluster but I find him pretty funny when he is a guest on the SNS :o

Spare a thought guys for two great friends of the SNS - Gerald & Lisa, it is all over

    http://www.independent.ie/lifestyle/...t-3296358.html

I wonder which of them will appear on the SNS first to tell their story.

I'm convinced the SNS team come on here to fish for good ideas and better gags :D

Would it kill them to give us a shout out?? ;):D

Don't be patting yourself on the back just yet. O' Connor edits that rag magazine that comes with the Sunday Indo to the best of my knowledge. Kean & Murphy were almost ever present on that publication so it's not such a stretch to envisage them popping up on the SNS.

I wouldn't have a clue what's in that magazine as I NEVER buy the SINDO, I'm strictly a SBP girl ;)

I know a guy who buys the SBP every week.

He never reads it, he just puts it on the back seat of his car so people will think he is a high flyer.

RTÉ are getting very pally with Michael McDowell lately.

I'm sick of the way they fawn over former ministers like McDowell and O'Rourke.

The bastards should be doing jail time for treason, not given free airtime to plug their books and tv shows.

I wish Oliver and Mario teamed up again, in my opinion, Oliver is a better mimic but Mario's material is funnier.

So that obnoxious a###hole McDowell is on tonight. if only his 'ancestors' that fought for freedom were alive now to see what he and his ilk have done to the country they died for. they must be turning in their graves.
Always remember that this charleten was one of the main players in bringing this country to its knees.

Nothing 'alleged' about the way this man and the others with their feet under the cabinet table at the time screwed this country.

    He practically admited there himself.

He receives a generous pension like all former ministers but he donates all of it to charity.
