J1 2013!

Hey!

I took a bold move a week ago and applied for the J1 USA Work & Travel VISA for summer 2013, i was saving the 279e promotional offer so i went for it on the spur of the moment! :eek:

trouble is, i applied for it on my own, and its hard to get your mates motivated this time of year!

heading to the US to work and see the country is something i always wanted to do, so i couldn't pass up on the opportunity this year!:cool:

I'm hopeful i can gather a few to head with me, or even find a new group to go with!! cos it'd be a bit dry on my own :P

anyone else??

Myself and a friend are going to boston, havnt applied through a company yet, going try doing it without :O plus those free offers are still there for a "Limited time only" with go4less, Usit etc...

Hi Rob! I'm kinda in the same boat myself, booked the j1 but haven't booked where im going yet.... thinking boston or maybe wildwood in philly Looking to find some possible housemates as my buds haven't the funds to go and rent is gonna be expensive on my own...plus it'd be more craic let me know if your interested

Didnt know you could apply without going through a company? :eek: If i had of known that, i probably would have saved myself a few quid?

I know USIT have stopped there promotional offer, as its with them i booked.

Yeah totally! - I actually put down the destination there the other day as i was asked on the spot (to secure cheap flights) i hadn't really thought a great deal about it, but i have always been fond of Florida :cool: - I put down Orlando thinking that with the theme parks and water parks, jobs would be flying around! - also.. a lot of fun to be had!! - I was told though that i can change the location, if i make the decision early... be great to go with a few people.. better craic.. woulnt be alone.. cheaper rent etc etc..

I booked boston, cape cod cos i heard alot of people where heading there! i guess unless one of us changes our location and we end up in the same place we can't really organise something :P if you change your mind and your coming to cape cod, give us a shout

Yeah, I still haven't finalized my decision though.. i only booked outta shear panic of loosing a good price lol..

I would gladly change my plans if it meant meeting up with others

Hey man - I'm heading to Miami, FL also without mates at the moment (they all bailed after I'd booked!) and am looking for people to go with to make it cheaper/more craic etc if you've any interest?

I registered for a visa before the deal ended, and booked flights to Boston, I had hoped some of my friends would get visa's aswell but none of them have actually went through with getting the visa. I don't know anyone going either.

Pretty Much the same as me, started off with a few of us going, i went ahead and booked it, and the fights.. everyone else dropped out..

I have booked Florida, as i really wanted to go somewhere warm... would you be willing to look at other places? - I would be too, but was really looking at warm states, (Florida, California)

Yeah I'd be willing to look at other cities, I'd probably stick to the east coast or maybe a little inland. It would all depend on the prices of the flights. I have until the start of March before the flights have to be paid.

I was so annoyed when my friends dropped out of the trip.
