Keep a eye on www.welfare.ie. they usually put the details a couple of week before hand.

Just wondering if anyone knows how it works over Xmas for the people who do part time work and have to fill out the weekly slips?

I got a letter to say i've to fill out all my slips up to the 25th Dec and drop them in by the 10th, my cheque comes every Tuesday, so will it all be paid before Xmas or will it just come on a different day?

Do you know if the same applies in my situation, I'm only working part time, I fill out the slips each week.

Edit Christmas arrangements are up but nothing about issuing of cheques to casual workers.

    From the above link:
    Customers working casually
Casual customers are advised to return dockets for the weeks-ending 11/12, 18/19 and 25/26 December to their local office by 10th December to ensure continuous payment over the Christmas period. As dockets are produced in advance in batches of 4 customers may receive dockets for these dates over separate mailings.

    Hi,

Just wondering, will Supplementary welfare paid weekly through Post office be paid the same way as all other weekly payments this christmas?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 358 ✭✭InisMor

    Hi,

    We're a bit confused.

My brother is on disabilty - so is he due two weeks this Friday, one week next Friday and it all goes back to normal on New Year's Eve?

    Cheers.

yes, this week is double payment, next week is single payment, then Christmas week off, and then a single payment again from Monday Dec 31st. To visualise this click your clock in the right bottom corner of your screen! :)

Yes, easy really but I'm very suspicious of civil services and their talk ;)

Hey everyone so last night at 12.00 I got paid my disability and so I went to the ATM this evening. Now I know its double pay today and I get €188 a week so I was expecting €376 in my bank account but there was only €276. Now no one knows my pins or has a hold of my card so did the social welfare make a mistake with my payment? Should I ring them up or will they know their mistake and sort of itself? Has this happened to anyone before?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 35 daychris76

That sounds very strange, I would contact them first thing in the morning.
If they have made a mistake and you need the money this week do not let them put it in the next run of payments as you will be left waiting. You should ask for an emergency payment via cheque which you can cash at any post office with identification and your social welfare card. If it is their mistake they are obliged to give you the option of requesting this emergency payment although they will not automatically offer it to you, you will have to ask for it.
Hope this is of some help.
    Chris.

    Thanks for that!
Yeah its never happened before and it is pretty strange but hopefully I'll sort it out in the morning :)
    Thanks again :)

I'd contact your local office straight away. There's nobody here who'll be able to answer a payment related query but them. You might post back here with what they told you in case it sounds familiar to other posters too.

Closed for staff training means they'll open up at some stage of the day. According to the Welfare Twitter account, no office is scheduled to be closed all day so I'd check again if possible.

    Hi all
    bit confused.
I get maternity benefit paid into the bank every Monday (although its usually inmy bank on the Saturday).
This week I got a payment on Friday 14th (my Monday 17th Payment), One today (with 17th date next to it - so that would be the week afters payment ie Monday24th).
My question is when will my next payment be in the bank? It should be Monday 31st (?) In the bank on Saturday 29th - but will it go in a few days earlier than that? (Could do with it as my rent due 27th!!)

Had a look at welfare.ie and they only refer to payments made on Thursdays!

    Any help appreciated.

    TIA

It is possible that people may have received their cheque by today due to Saturday post, but it is unlikely. If you haven't received a cheque by tomorrow's post, I would definitely enquire in your local office.
