Haven't done but I was tempted to do some of the interior a while back.
Check out www.thestickyrings.com and https://www.facebook.com/VinylStyling, they're both owned by young enough lads in the Irish car scene. Good quality stuff.

Putting a load of pointless brand names (Greddy,Nismo,Veilside etc etc) on your car??

    Why do that????

Do a bit of research before you have a go at some one, would you?

You're completely wrong, go figure it out for yourself.

Well the power of Google does it again.

One question though, with regards to this sticker bombing.....

WHY the fcuk would you want to do that to a car???

It started out with drift cars that take regular beatings, a bag of stickers of anything is a lot cheaper than getting a panel resprayed.
It ended up as a "thing" to do in certain modifying scenes and when done right it can actually look decent.

This was done by one of our own

In a nut shell, its personal taste. Just like everything else. Personaly I'm fond of the humble sticker bombing. I dont get the carbon fiber wrap, but like I said just personal taste.

As for the sticker bombing I think less is more. Some people would only sticker bomb a wheel arch or a fual cap. Others might stickerbomb their roof or bonnet etc...

    Good example.

    Bad example.

You'r grand, If you have a heat gun its not a bad idea to heat up the splitter slightly before putting on stickerbomb wrap as it will stick better. Just make sure it doesn't melt.

would you say i should remove the things to be stickerbomb?

Seems a hard job to remove the centre console?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,721 ✭✭✭✭CianRyan

It's usually just a few screws to get it out, you're better off tbh. Leave the edges where they can't be seen and all that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,783 ✭✭✭RidleyRider

Like Cian said, it shouldn't be too difficult and you'll probably be glad of it in the end.

Even just look it up on youtube of how to remove your centre console.

Follow the pictures and it won't be all that difficult. Then just reverse the process.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 274 ✭✭Jordan537

stickers should arrive tomorrow or Thursday, got a mate helping me put them on, will take some pics and upload them when it's finished. :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 274 ✭✭Jordan537

So i did it! The Splitter wouldn't come off so this is me doing it whilst its attached while using a hair dry to soften the plastic. I don't think its too bad at all.

I also did the A pillars inside the car but its to dark to take a photo of them, what do ya think of it lads ? :D

Not a huge fan of stickerbombing but that looks quiet well!

Put up a few more pics tomorrow :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 274 ✭✭Jordan537

hard to get pics in daytime, dont start untill 11am tomorrow so should get some, one side came detatched today and was flapping around, i drilled a small hole in either end and put a cable tie through it and tied it. Holding solid now, hopefully that is the problem sorted. Plus the cable ties are invisible :D

You should heat the wrap as you're applying it, not so much the surface that you're applying to. The glue on Vinyl is generally activated by heat, so yes, heating the surface may help somewhat, but direct heat onto the vinyl itself is what will activate the glue properly. It also allows you to stretch and shape it as you fit.

When you have it in place fully, you should have enough overhang of it to wrap around the back of whatever you are wrapping, then heat again and press like fook to make sure it stick tight around the back/edges of what you have wrapped. It should prevent it coming loose at all, ever. :)

Now, i do like your stickerbomb effect :) (dar83's advice as regards applying it is also good. ten mins with a haridryer even would do wonders).

But i must ask as i often see it and ask myself "why do people spend money on mods before the car is in good order".

as in why are you spending money on stickerbomb and the likes but your going around with a huge dent in the car? surely the car would look better without the stickerbomb and having the wing fixed?

your car, your rules, im just asking :)

Good question :) I'm in the process of trying to get that fixed, I tried a scrap yard that had the same car and colour but the same wing had almost the same dent. There is another scrap yard a bit further away I might try. BTW... I didn't crash it. Some moron ran into it and drove off when it was parked up.

I was actually looking at this option a while back for my black mk5 golf

I got a dent on my bonnet a while back and am having huge difficulty in sourcing a suitable replacment. repair cost is over £240

I have a spare bonnet (wrong colour and also dented) that I can mess around with. I was thinking something like this...

    this is my car...
