National Hunt Ante-Post tipping challenge

I thought it might be interesting if we could nominate which horses we think are going to win some of the top races this season. Just a bit of fun. Pick the horses you think will win the following races, write the best current ante-post price next to it from http://www.oddschecker.com/horse-racing-betting (not including betting exchanges). Winner is the person who achieves the best profit to a mythical €1 stake on each horse.

    Races are:

King George VI Chase at Kempton
    Cheltenham Champion Hurdle
    Queen Mother Champion Chase
    Cheltenham Gold Cup
    Ryanair Chase
    World Hurdle
    Arkle Chase
    RSA Chase
    Aintree Grand National

Entries close on Saturday before racing at Newbury starts.

    Not a bad idea

I'll certainly post by Saturday. Going on the beer pretty much all day Friday so may well need to have my entry in by Thursday night.

A lot will change depending on the going, with this in mind I am thinking outside the parade ring, but tomorrow I will be punting on all my picks, something I would never normally do.

I would be thankful if any of you guys were able to give some incite into my picks ( if you think they will run), I only have 1 shirt left.

Ante Post is a complete mine field and there are too many variables, if anything happens the horse, the ground doesn't suit and possible improvers. You lose your money if the horse doesn't run and all this headache for slightly bigger odds. Sure look at this year, tons of people had Sizing Europe, Hurricane Fly and Grands Crus in multiples as they were down as bankers and they all got beaten at short odds.

I am not bothering much with it anymore for these reasons but if you want to go for it.

I would only do it if I think something is way overpriced but even that that there are no guarantees, had 50/1 Go Native for the Champion and the poor fella was killed doing a piece of work. I also have Imperial Commander at 55 but he has since suffered a setback and can be got a bigger price.

BetVictor going NR No Bet at Cheltenham Festival up to £50 per horse & £100 per race. Offer also backdated for ante post bets already struck.

That's not much good when Victor has banned half the country.

Arvika Ligeonniere at 33/1 for the RSA would have been a nice bet but won't run in it and same with Captain Chris at 16/1 for the Ryanair. :o
