    Hey guys,

I joined my local slimming world class last night and i'm finding it a bit overwhelming. The menus look amazing but I literally do not have time to go home every evening to go home and cook up meals from scratch. Any advice for me? What would you typical days eating with slimming world be like? Thanks

    Hiya

I have been with slimming world 2 months now and find it great - I have lost my stone in weight and it was easy.

It is all in the planning - you have to sit down and work out a menu for the week. The secret I found that worked for me was to have a super free AFTER I have eaten my meal. If I am hungry between meals - I will eat a bit of fruit.

The recipes are easy to do and follow and yummy. And you can always use your own take on them as well :P

I love the fact that nothing is really banned and you can pretty well eat what you want but you just eat smaller portions and swap out fatty foods for something healther.

I will say that it is slower than WW which I was always hungry on and you are always full when following the Slimming World plan.

Try it and see how you get on :)

I was in slimming world last year and was doing great i lost 2 half stone in 3 months then i gave up smokes and my weight was going up and down ,so i left and gained loads more weight. In late December i was having trouble finding something nice to wear to a wedding ,didnt like how i looked in the dress so decided that come the newyear i would rejoin a class .i joined on the 1/1/13 i feel this is my year to get healthy.good luck to all and dont give up i have in the past and when i see others who joined with me who have reached target i do be kicking myself.if i could give advice it would be to read your book ,use lifeline and stay to group as the tips you get are fab plus sometimes if your struggling it can help by listening to other members talk .

you could set aside a day (sat/sun or an evening midweek) ... make 4/5 different meals and freezer them .... works for me.

Yes... I'm joining tonight after my mothers success with them & was wondering how I'd manage the meals!! This is simple yet brilliant... Cheers!!!

It shouldn't be hard, you can check your book, you can check online and you can use the manual calculator online to work out stuff you can't find

You can find lots of syn values on their app and on their site. Your leader should have given you a code to access the site your first night.

    Best of luck

Hey there, I am a new member to Slimming world as well, just joined last week!
I wanted to join even though I knew this month would be extra hectic with birthdays, weddings and late nights at work. Like Danniboo I am finding it hard to make time to cook!

On Monday I left it to eat so late I became really hungry and ate a 9 bar which turned out to be 13 syns :( This put me way over budget.

Any advice on what a low syn option would be if you find yourself stuck late at work or a lecture?

Also if you are going out to dinner with a friend, where are the best places to go but keep within the 15 syns?

hi Betty when I was going out id bring a bag of fruit and cupshotz or a mugshot.a few of the hi fi bars are great to have on hand you could have the light ones for 3 syns .if you can get a few hours once a week and make up some of your favourite foods that you could bring with you or have on hand when you come home. I find planning what you eat can help a lot. Also use the online lists as it will give you great tips .
when going out find out where you are going to eat and have a look at the menu before hand . what you like to eat ask for any sauces to be served in a side dish ,no butter or oils on your veg as these are syns we don't think about .If you are on facebook join some of the pages as you will see ideas for eating out ,and also for recipes .I hope this helps .good luck .:P

I'm not sure if I can post this in this thread or not, but I am trying to find a class on Wednesdays. Mondays and Wednesdays are the only evenings Im free and I am finding hard to find a class! The only one I can seem to find is in Rivervalley, Swords which is a bit awkward to get to. Any suggestions would be appreciated, Ive been going through the Slimming World website and google and am at a loss.

Hi there, I am a new poster to boards but have been reading on here for a long time. I am joining Slimming World on Monday and I was just wondering what to expect on the first meeting??

I have a lot of weight to lose, over half my current weight and i have read alot of success stories from people who have gone to SW and lost 16 and 17 stone, which i am very hopeful for :-)

I have also just started a blog tonight as I want to keep a diary and share tips and recipes and stories, and learn from others that have done it and have knowledge in weightloss.

    http://iammissdustybin.blogspot.ie/

I have read up about SW and asked people i know that have gone and from what i have found out it really seems to be the one for me! Any info is very much appreciated though. Thank u
