Anyone know where to buy these

    http://us.playstation.com/ps3/accessories/higher-end-stereo-headset.html

Found them on Play.com for €113 but with customs finally deciding to do their job after 50 yrs sitting on their ass I'm concerned I'll be hit with them coming from Jersey. (The same seller on amazon has them marked as 'used' so not very comfortable with that.

Amazon.co.uk have them for £108 shipped and this place have them for £100 with UK shipping.Anyone bought from them?

    http://www.gameathlon.com/sony-pulse-wireless-stereo-headset-elite-edition-ps3-preorder.html

Anywhere in Ireland that sells them? Currently using a Logitech F540 which is a great headset but the mic doesn't work in BF3 which I'm obsessed with and in the music department the Sony's are meant to be better than $300 Beats by Dre (overrated crap anyway) and I can use them with my Vita & iPhone/ipad/Galaxy tab. Looking to buy asap. Any ideas.

Check out the reviews on youtube (apart from 1 guy who appears to be getting paid to say they are rubbish). Unless your willing to spend £250 on A50's they seem to be the best shizzle for your cash for gaming. The fact you get an awesome pair of on-the-road music cans for the price is a clincher for me and they don't look too bad as cans go either.

Cheers for the link but its a bit more expensive than amazon unfortunately. I was gutted when I found out Officemax in tehe USA had a Cyber monday deal for $100 which I missed by literally 10 minutes and also pre-orders to Amazon.co.uk had been £70. Steal for this quality.

For anyone looking to get their hands on these things ASDA in the Uk have them for just under £96 including shipping to the UK (wish it was Ireland). If you had ParcelMotel or some other forwarder/mates/relations they could get them to you.

Anyone know if ASDA take Irish CC or Paypal and if the old BT11AA Northern Ireland trick works with them.

    http://direct.asda.com/Pulse-Wireless-Stereo-Headset---PS3/003778922,default,pd.html?utm_source=awin&utm_medium=aff&utm_term=47868&utm_content=HotUKDeals&utm_campaign=ad&cm_mmc=ad-aff-_-awin-_-HotUKDeals-_-47868

BTW Gamestop have them for €160, rip-off sods.

Why not use Parcel Motel yourself?

Hi I was going to but the whole system confused the hell out of me. Think I was just having a blond moment. But just checked amazon.co.uk again and they now have the same deal as Asda but with a £2 amazon MP3 promo (yawn but its something) for music purchased from them.

Total price after adjusting for our banker & politician-funding VAT is £98.38 (€121.12) almost €40 less than gamestop so I went for it. I'll use them to drown out the budget announcements.

The wireless stereo headphones I bought last year (PS3) feel out of date now!

Thats the one. €160 europes. Shame I had to give my money to the UK gov but thats what happens when the politicians are in bed with the supply channel.

Not at all. They are meant to be great cans. I've never used them personally though. If I had them not sure I'd bother upgrading to the Pulse. Many on youtube have said the same. Would like to know how yours compare to the Pulse and my current F540. Will have to do a back to back review of the Pulse and F540 when I get them and burn in the Pulse.

I don't use them quite as much as I had hoped but I think they are great considering they are wireless.

Sound pros might define them as average but for the money it is very good. I have a 2.1 system and I am always surprised at the little bit of extra detail you can get when wearing them.

Can be used on PCs as well.

With the Netflix launch this year they also have an extra use.

Just received the Sony Pulse Wireless Elite headset today. Sweet mother of jesus do these things look the part. Setup is literally plug and play with the dongle. The sound on BF3, well, deafening, massive bass, tight mids and popping treble.

So far testing with an iphone as a music source music quality is fantastic and in terms of audio after years of using iphone earphones, moving up to slightly more expensive Sennheisers, €100 Sonys and now coming from using UE Triple-Fi 10's which if you've ever used them are some of the best earphones in the sub-€600 market so I'm used to picking out detail. Will need a bit of a run-in before making a final judgment but they seem as good as Beats by Dr Dre Studios (I don't even count the Solos) or even better which have had 100+ hour run-in so looking good. It'll be Sunday before I can back-to-back with the Dre's and I need a quality cable to really hear them before hearing what these can do.

If anyone has any questions or tests they want run leave a comment. I'm going back to making my ears bleed and break my skull with the force feedback.

Going to wait till the start of the next gen to buy a new headset, the one i have is fine; mix-amp is good but the headset has a slight hiss to it.

Which headset is it and regards the hiss is it near any other electronics that could be generating the hum. Even poorly shielded audio cables can generate it.

Amazing price. I just called the Grafton Street branch in Dublin and they can't even find it on their system. No idea why. At that price its a no brainer.

Thanks to the BA warning, I picked up one at Henry St - it was last on the display, but they may / may not have more in stock? They have another version (the one with slab sides for €89 on display as well - downstairs, with PS3 accessories). They didn't know anything about 'Sony Pulse Headphones' upstairs in the music / headphones section either - I suppose these are not as "hip" as Dr Dre stuff that every HMV employee is advertising around their neck.

Sweet jesus is there any of them Pulse headsets left in HMV for that incredible price? will get a bus to Dublin to buy them!!!

    None in the Square, Tallaght.

I'm heading into HMV in Limerick tomorrow to find me one of these bad boys. I'll raid the stock room if I have to.

Would you not ring them first - just in case if it's all sold out?

Meanwhile, I tried this headset earlier today at work with work laptop and random stuff on the net, and it was just okay, simple and comfortable to use but nothing special about sound.

However, just after trying them at home on PS3 with Battlefield 2 (can't find where I left the Battlefield 3 disc.. :( ). Now I don't have anything to compare against other than my home theater system which never get to use at decent volume out of politeness to neighbours etc, but WOW - just wow!! BC2 was like a new game altogether. There was so much I hadn't heard befpre, and the weapons are so punchy, chopper overhead so menacing - the headphone shakes / vibrates just like that the controller - not sure if it's a feature or it's the effect of the base. Anyhow, I think I am going to play BC2 once again this Christmas.

Reading up more about this headphones, this sounds like a keeper.

Apparently, you can wire any audio source into the usb dongle, and (as long as the USB key is powered) you should get audio from that source, along with the BaseImpact, pulse all all the rest of the features of this headphones.

You can also use these headphones by connecting them to any audio source with the cable, and they act as normal headphones, you don't even need to turn it on - zero drain on battery!!

Now I am thinking how I can use this on board Etihad flights, as I have about 20 hours on board with them in new year. I know Etihad have usb ports, and in addition to the usual two-pin audio socket, I think they also have the normal 3.5mm audio jack as well for each seat. I wonder if I could power the wireless usb key with that usb port, connect in flight entertainment audio to the wireless usb key and get 100 out of this headphones for the trip. :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,905 ✭✭✭Chavways

Got mine in HMV Limerick there. There were 4-5 more on the shelf but there were a lot of people snooping around them so they could be gone quickly. The lads at the till didn't know that Gamestop were charging 160 for them. I have a feeling that HMV have the price of the old PS headphones that came out a year or 2 ago and they haven't priced these properly.Weren't they like 70 euro?

    Anyway I'm not complaining.:D:D

Edit: I just wet my pants

No, the USB socket is more than likely just powered with no data and even if it wan't I doubt it would be set up to work.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,455 ✭✭✭positron

Well, I was hoping to use the usb socket just for the power, and take audio feed from the 2 pin / 1 pin audio socket and wire it to the usb dongle.

So tempted but the lack of 360 support is off putting, head set I've got works well with mix amp.

Hopefully MS's next console will support Bluetooth.

You can use them as regular headphones aswell with the 3.5mm jack. A complete bargain for the price.

I know, they very good even without using them for chat or on a 360 but knowing that it can't is annoying.

Anyone know how these deal with a none dolby source on the PS3 for the surround such as DTS-HD.

Joker indeed, seriously mate you'll still save yourself money getting a bus to Dublin and buying them in HMV than in Gamestop. I would of done that as i live in Wexford but luckily my other half lives in Dublin and she went out to Liffey Valley and got them for me there.
