Ariva 150 or Ariva 250, which combo receiver?

I need to order and setup a couple of combo receivers for some relations, and was going to just order Ariva 150 boxes, a model which I have bought and installed previously and was very happy with.

However, I notice on Satsklep that the price differential between the Ariva 150 and Ariva 250 is less than a fiver, so it would appear to be a no-brainer to order the Ariva 250, which I would do on principal alone if they were for myself. But, like I said, they are for a couple of relations.

Can someone explain to me the advantages of the Ariva 250 over the lower model?
I'm not just being lazy - have looked at the specs. but cannot see anything obvious to me, so would appreciate some info from someone who actually has this model.

    Thanks in advance.

Same situation here myself now. Did you find out the differences between these two models?

Well the 250 has more card slots. That obviously not anyadvantage if you are watching FTA TV.

The advantage of the 250 over the 150 is the remote control which allows you to control other devices as well. Switch the Tv on/off/AV on on etc. One remote.

See existing threads - Ariva 150 or Ariva 250

Thinking of getting the 250 can I watch Ch4 HD on it, is it a good receiver to buy as a combo box

    CH4 HD
    ITV1 HD.
    BBC1 HD
BBC HD (soon to become BBC2 HD)
    RTE2 HD (some programmes)
& a couple of foreign based English speaking news channels.

Myself, my Brother, my Mother, My BIL and my BIL's Mother have them (the 150 version) and not one single issue with any of them.

    Cracking little boxes imo.

Did anyone get an answer to this? Wondering the same thing now with the newer models and can't find an answer on here nor by comparing the specs!

The answer is at post 3. Same applies to the 153 v 253. Bigger Flash memory, remote that control other devices, CI slot.
