Must repair my 10 foot tender that has plenty of minor repairs ie patches of fibreglass over the years...(40)!!!!!
There are layers of paint inside and out.
What is the best way to "rebottom" her.I can remove and replace bilge keels easily enough but she is clinker style fibreglass with cracked gel coat.
I just want to make a functional repair, not a "showroom" finish.
I have a gallon of resin and a couple of metres of matting and I want to make best use of it.
Any advice apreciated, thanks for taking the time to read my post.

Hi downwesht welcome, I would start by sanding off all the old paint on the outside to see what has to be done "if you can, post a few photos" sand down any cracks or dings that need to be filled and as you have resin already you can buy some microballons to thicken it up or if you want the cheep way mix some talcum powder or flour into it to make a paste and using a plastic squeegee just spread it over the repair leaving it a little bit proud so it can be sanded back down.

Thanks Ferghal, how do I stop the fibreglass curing too quickly, or should I just do small areas at the time?

Yep just do a small bit at a time, if you mix it in a cup and then pour it into a foil tray or paint tray it will last a bit longer this cold weather will also help :D
If you are still finding it going off too fast you might have to get a slow hardener.

For any deep cracks this might help.
