Thinking about advertising a Web Development business on a newspaper. What would be the best newspaper to put an add on? Are newspaper ads still worth it?

Online newspapers would be read by the tech savvy but traditional newspaper advertising is a very expensive scattergun approach. If you have a big budget and can afford quarter page ads you might generate some leads, but smaller ads are probably just a money burn.

There was a really good thread on this forum some months back on print advertising , can't find it on a quick search but it had some really good posts and worth digging it out.

    Cheers

Print advertising is a "long game"
You won't see returns with a single advert - you'd need to run ads for several weeks or months before you start seeing anything.. which can get quite expensive

A lot will depend on your target market, so if you're more of a local business then you might be able to get relatively cheap ads in a local / regional newspaper.
    Nationals cost a lot more.

In terms of magazines most of the business / IT magazines have folded over the last couple of years. The only one with properly audited figures that's left is Business Plus. Depending on what you're advertising you can get a good return from advertising with them.

Of course "online" might work better.
