Need to bulk up within several months

    I've gotten to a stage of being unnaturally skinny, lookin to put on a stone or two over the next few months, im joining ben dunne gym soon too, i eat loads and have massive dinners but dont gain a pick really, whats the best way to bulk up over 3-6 months? whey gain or creatine or what supplement? any advice hugely appreciated!

    Can you give examples of this? have you ever bothered to weigh it and/or work out calories.

    A massive dinner to me would be a full roast chicken and 3-4 potatoes the size of tennis balls.

    As mentioned above - your idea of a 'massive meal' or 'eating loads' may not be as much as you think.

    Post up your diet.

    I used to be one of those people who eat a massive amount and never put on weight. Then I looked at what I was eating and realised that I was actually eating massive meals every now and then, and often missing meals completely.

    Figure out how much you are really eating and then look to increase that. The most important thing IMO is being consistent. I put on about 10 kilos in 8 months (can't remember the exact details) just by making sure I ate a proper breakfast and lunch, the same dinners I'd always been having. I wasn't weight training at all during that period either - the only exercise I did was 2-3 judo sessions a week.

    Well last night for dinner I had sirlion streak, mushy peas and mashed potatoes and everything was overflowing off the plate, i usually have dinners along the lines of that. Have porridge for breakfast and get chip baguettes for lunch

    I wouldnt class that as a lot of food. As mentioned above you may think your eating a lot but when you start weighing everything and working out your macros you realize your not eating enough. Find out your maintenance cals and eat a surplus. Weigh everything so you know exactly what your eating. For example my first meal today was at 10am and I ate 400grams of chicken breast, 150grams of rice, 2 bananas, some olive oil n seasoning and broccoli and mixed veg. Total was 1400 cals. Know your numbers and you shouldn't have a problem putting on weight.

    Second everything people have said here, if you don't know how much you are taking in right now and what you need to take in to gain weight then you're wasting your time.

    Give us some details, height, weight, age, sex, daily activity levels and we can give you some guidance!

    Ill also echo what every one is saying here also....like you i tought i was a big eater and just a "hardgainer"...till the wifes brother in law (a sucsessfull amatuer bb) gave my a 3500-4000kcal diet,was told this is what i need to be eating while weight training to gain weight and put on size.......and i realised i was way under eating for my height and goals.....bottom line is eat more,there is no seceret formula or supp,just food and plenty of it.

    I third echo everything that people have seconded and echoed here.

    I've never met anyone in my life who managed to circumvent the first law of thermodynamics...the second law you can argue about with respect to weight loss but as it pertains to weight gain...I am afraid you are out of luck there as well.

    There is no such thing as a 'hardgainer'....there is no such thing as 'I eat and eat and can't put on any weight'...there's only levels of self delusion and or misunderstanding to be understood and regulated and then you'll be good to go.

    What I am saying is basically...you just aren't eating enough.

    Just agreeing with everything that's already been posted. For years I was between 9 and 10 stone. I kept saying I just can't gain weight etc.
    About a year ago (weighing 10 stone) I decided I wanted to try lift weights again ( I tried when I was a teenager but hadn't got the proper interest). I soon realised that I was barely eating enough calories to just get through the day. I would graze of rubbish, fast food, white bread, stuff like that. I missed meals ALOT.
    So, over the past year I've read an awful lot about lifting and eating and calorie totals and I've gained a stone. I'm now the heaviest I've ever been and starting to receive lots of compliments about how I look.While still being slim and having a small frame I now fill shirts and tshirts better.
    Trying to up your calorie intake when your not used to eating lots ain't easy but add in a few small healthy snacks during the day and you'll soon be on your way.
