    Would you consider yourself awkward?

    No.

    Have you ever been skiing?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,230 ✭✭✭Merkin

I haven't yet braved it. Mr. Merkin loves it and wants us to go but I am a. accident prone and b. not very graceful, I've only been ice-skating once and nearly cracked my skull about five seconds in so I think I may just spend some time on the baby slopes and apres ski :D

How is your day going so far?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,029 ✭✭✭salacious crumb

Started off great, is slightly boring now, but there will be pints and heavy metal music later on to look forward to.

Do you know any good stories?

Oooh I know plenty! And ones I don't know I make up!

What was your favourite story as a child?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,029 ✭✭✭salacious crumb

Either The Elves and the Shoemaker, or The Wolf and the Seven Little Kids.

Were/are you a fan of the ladybird book series?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,230 ✭✭✭Merkin

A fan?! I was obsessed! :) I had them all and I'm sure that's what fostered by love of books and reading now! I loved the Elves and the Shoemaker story too. I also loved Rumpelstiltskin, The Magic Porridge Pot and Rapunzel. If you Google some of the older versions the covers really evoke memories of childhood don't they?

    Did you play with Lego?

I think your love of books has your head in the clouds anyway. Just like me :pac:

    What's your favourite book?

    Neverwhere by neil gaimen :)

    you?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,230 ✭✭✭Merkin

Oh goodness, I really don't know! Good question! Possibly East of Eden by John Steinbeck, Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte or The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald. I love Harukie Murikami as well and Norwegian Wood has stayed with me, as has The Wind Up Bird Chronicle. To be honest, each book I read is a bit like a love affair so I'm totally engrossed in it while I read it and feel a sense of loss then when I approach the end! So I've listed the books above but to be honest any really good book I come across is my favourite book at the time!

    And you?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,029 ✭✭✭salacious crumb

Hmm. Probably Spares by Michael Marshall Smith or A Scanner Darkly by Philip K. Dick.

Are you a sci fi fan?

Ooh, ooh. Edit. Also A Confederacy of Dunces by John Kennedy Toole

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,230 ✭✭✭Merkin

Not a sci-fi fan at all! Mr. Merkin is a scientist with a PhD and loves all sorts of sci-fi and I just find it all one big snorefest.

Does that make me no longer welcome in this forum?

Why is the weather so ****e ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 48,742 ✭✭✭✭Wichita Lineman

Coz it's Ireland and with everything else here being so absolutely super dooper and wonderfully delightful we have to take the bad weather of we'd lose the run of ourselves. Imagine how mad we'd all be if we had all this loveliness AND good weather!!!!

Have you got a boat tied to the side of your house just in case???????

    Yes.

When closing your car door, do you slam it or gently push it in?
