Apparently the man is speaking in Turkey courtesy of ITAA spouting the usual.

To busy to be bothered with trivial Irish employment matters. Then to have the cheek on twitter to say their is 2 sides to every story. He had his chance at the hearing.

One tweet challenged him here is the response: "@sinsear grow up two sides to every story and don't be a fool by believing everything u read"

    Some neck....

As a friend of mine just said is it a pyric victory?

Will George ever pay the 72K? Is she behind NAMA, revenue, banks in the list?

George's twitter response from a tweet challenge:

"@sinsear grow up two sides to every story and don't be a fool by believing everything u read"

Really bad from a legal tribunal with a finding of fact. Unbelieable for someone campaigning against bullying.

Awful reply there on Twitter, bullying in itself. No need to be calling anyone a fool for having an opinion.

I would like to acknowledge how brave Jennifer Beary has been during what must have been a harrowing episode in her life.

Hopefull she remains strong in the days ahead, as no doubt pressure will be applied on her position. Do not relent and stay the course.

I am saying that as I do seem to detect her facebook is in semi lockdown (understandable). Plus George is gone off twitter.... wondering what's happening behind the scenes.

This is a big story in Clonmel.

what pressure can be applied he did not even appear at the hearing.Maybe she keeps her face book on private. For a big story it is not getting much air.

    What is her facebook?

Fair point. Its true the national media has not picked up on it much however it is the talk of Clonmel from anyone I have met over the weekend and no one who knows him is really surprised.

I am disappointed with the national media response on this, as he generated headlines in his favour when he perceived the banks as bullying him. This is bullying of a far worse nature; a pregnant woman, yet no media outside the Examiner giving it an airing.

The way I see it George has 3 moves:
    - Ignore it lay low for a while and wait till it goes away. Will he pay?
    - Apologise, pay the lady promptly and publically acknowledge his failings in this issue
    - Go after the findings through some microscopic legal route, fight it and harass to the point of a different conclusion. I do not know if that is possible considering his no show at the hearing. I have no legal qualification on whether that is possible?

The next move is over to George? The mask has slipped can the image be repaired?

Maybe they thought the story would go under the radar, and now have to do something to try to save face? Its all very well becoming humble when the chips go down..if the boom was still going,we would never have seen his "Sheperds pie side",because he wouldnt have had to play that card.Is it not against the law to tamper with anyones mail? How come he got away with tampering with it and not bother delivering it?

Any reference on George Mordaunt appealing the ruling or official statement.

If true he had his chance, I knew he was in lock down trying to squirm out of it.

Oh the true colors coming out now.

His appeal will be severely hampered by his initial non attendance showing no respect for the tribunal and by action the laws of the land, court takes a very dim view of that and it will go against him.

No doubt some fudge like I was busy, dog ate my homework or slipped out of the hectic calendar will be tried. All a miserable attempt...

Maybe the postman never delivered the letter to notify him that the hearing was taking place.
But that would never happen, right ?

Maybe he trained the replacement postman or he got some ideas of the book on how to shorten the workload?

I read in the Nationalist that the reason he didn't attend was that, technically, the company no longer exists.
This immediately got me thinking, how then can the "company" appeal the judgement and more worryingly will George/company now claim that they are not liable for any costs.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 951 ✭✭✭andrewdeerpark

As I predicted he is searching for technicalities seeing the damming evidence delivered by poor Jennifer and the tribunals verdict.

From seeing the justice system in action I doubt they will buy this absolute bull. He totally ignored the Tribunal, obviously binned the letter thinking that company is closed (I can ignore that), and is now appealing it. Will the company have a Lazarus resurrection for one day only on the appeal date? Then fold up so as not to pay?

Also the company may have closed by the principal accused remains. Maybe he was handling the tribunal like NAMA? Who knows?

He did not even send a letter or any legal representative or statement explaining the company was closed to the initial tribunal?

This whole explanation is bizarre from George and I think everyone will see it as such, or does he believe we the public are that stupid?

Unfortunately if not over for poor Jennifer in her case, however she can take satisfaction from the knowledge that her case is out their on the record for ever more for all to see exposing George for what he is....

I posted earlier and it seems to have disappeared. I worked from this man and I can only describe it as mental torture. I used to get physically ill every day before attending work. I was subjected to bullying, harassment and mind games. Fair play to Jennifer for standing up for the rest of us who never had a chance to get their day in court.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 951 ✭✭✭andrewdeerpark

jollywobbles take care of yourself, and good for you that you have left the mordaunt garage. Sounds like his methods are finally catching up him and the mask of "anti-bully campaigner" have been totally exposed.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2 jollywobbles

Will do! It was the best days work I ever did leaving there. He is a complete bully. It's his wife i feel sorry for (and kids) - she has no idea. He used to get the receptionist to buzz him when she came into the building so he would have time to compose himself and wouldn't be caught in a compromising situation!
Good things come to those who wait and I have been waiting for years for this day. Jennifer is such a brave woman and I am so grateful to her. Thanks for the support.

Surely not a chance they will win this on appeal. Company is still registered as "Normal Status" with Companies Registration Office but the last accounts filed are for 2009 - not a good sign. Wishful thinking on Directors part to believe that they can overturn this in court but they may be able to string it out long enough to have the company struck off for not filing accounts on time, or at all, and then the entire case may fail.
Would not like to be facing Circuit court with the evidence as presented in this case. The "no show" at the Tribunal and the excuse offered to the media is derisory but not unexpected as these guys seem to think they can tell the rest of us how to do things while ignoring their own advice.
I'm sure Mr Mordaunt will have lots to say on the forthcoming budget, VRT, car tax etc yet he is comfortable driving an English reg Jag which is neither VRT'd or taxed in this state! Perhaps customs and excise would have an interest in this!!

I agree to a certain extent ... but he is correct when he says there is two sides to every story ..
Im not sure if he has a case or not .. im only getting the facts by reading boards.ie ....

Very true. I agree with that, I can't really comment on the matter as I'm biased due to a very unpleasant run in I had with Mr.Mourdant.

fair enough .. cant argue with you on that issue .. the problem i have in ireland is its " Guilty until proven innocent " instead of other way around .. Wouldnt your agree .

Your dead right flipper,we haven't heard his side of the story and neither did the trinunal but that is because he didn't bother his a**e turning up.
He has some neck,I'll give him that,to stand up and lecture people about not allowing the banks bully them when he was the epitome of a classroom bully.
And that's not just me saying that,it's an employment tribunal and half the population of Clonmel

The awful treatment of an excellent employee, newly married, about to have her 1st child that ends up having a stillborn birth. No care compassion or understanding, in fact the exact opposite, shown by George to the awful situation.

Then the total disrespect for the tribunal which is part of the laws of the land.

We are all dying to hear his side of the story and not this technical miserable reason put forward so far...
