Problem with Internet Via Erthnet

Folks, I'm having problems connecting to the eircom broadband via a 2011 iMac using Erthnet. The iMac keeps saying "no connection" and "IP address unavailable"- I have tried 4 different cables and still no joy - even went into system preferences and deleted the erthnet and then added it on. It seems to have only occured…
